I've looked through the forums and people have had similar issues, but mine is somewhat different. The pinned thread that solves the 30 second wait time to log in works, however once I click "Join Internet Game", there are no servers, chat doesn't work and history is empty as well. Refreshing only results with an error saying "Connection error: Unknown connection error". My firewall is disabled and I've never had an issue like this before.

Apologies for not noticing the thread before, however the extension doesn't seem to make any difference. Unless I'm supposed to launch the game with NWLauncher.exe, which only gives an error that it failed to launch the game.
P.S. Refreshing the server list now crashes the game altogether.

nwlauncher must be in the location of the game's exe.
The game crashes because Gamespy stopped providing server lists (to many, many other games as well) a while ago. So your choice is use skywing's launcher, or direct connect via ip address(you can get a partial list of servers and their ip addresses at http://www.nwnlist.com/). Skywing's launcher is better, as it fixes a number of other things as listed in his thread.

The launcher IS in the location of the game's exe. The string value "Path" also has the correct location. I may be silly, but not THAT silly, sir.
Thank you for the list, however! I hope atleast that works.

From what I read elsewhere on the internet, Gamespy recently shut down the servers for NWN2 and many other games. So while one can direct connect to worlds, the other multiplayer functionality no longer works.

What's the exact error message you receive? What OS are you running on, and have you configured nwn2main.exe to always run as elevated (undo this if you have -- it's not necessary and will not work properly with the CE, and it reduces your system security to have done that to begin with).
Are you using the Steam edition of the game?

The CE integrates its own matchmaking service to replace the shut down built-in matchmaking, so clients using the CE still have built-in capabilities to browse for servers to connect to.
Otherwise, there's a web-based server list available at http://www.nwnlist.com, and an app that you can run on your desktop to browse servers (and if you have the CE installed, launch the game to directly connect to them): http://nwvault.ign.c...r.Detail&id=295
