Lara's character was really well done. I really like how she (and the narrative in general) progresses as the story goes on. Similar to Spec Ops: The Line, I found it satisfying to hear the taunts (and even Lara's barks) to progress.
It's a very, very pretty game too, which doesn't hurt. And I only played at default settings.
I know some may not have liked it, but I also appreciated how generous the game was for things like jumping onto balance, or grabbing ledges. It meant Lara could defy gravity, but it also meant I wasn't fighting the controls in any sort of "oops, you weren't quite running straight enough into that ledge as you jumped into it, so you die. I can understand some may not have found this as appealing, but eh.
The head nod to classic Lara at the end also lead to huge grins on my face.
RPG mechanics almost always make me like a game more (i.e. NOLF 2, or heck even Gran Turismo), even if I did have to laugh at Lara putting MacGyver to shame hehe.
