I have a question for TR players. All gameplay sneak peaks I have seen were basically Lara stalking her human prays for perfect kill and whimpering, shaking and makes these fearful "protect me" sounds in meanwhile. Is it really like this? Or did I just have a back luck and the latter occurs only in the beginning?

You just managed to see the parts where this is the case. The fearful "protect me" sounds disappear the further you come into the game

You just managed to see the parts where this is the case. The fearful "protect me" sounds disappear the further you come into the game

They do tend to come back when she is really hurt though, all I will say is that the Shanty Town to Helicopter sequence was really immersive.

The new Tomb Raider is f*cking amazing, finished it in 3 days, couldn't stop playing it. Buy it people, great action/story and soooo much fun!

So here's something interesting. There is this guy on GT, who seems to have a problem with how the game reinvented Lara Croft & Tomb Raider. Calling this incarnation of Lara Croft a killing machine, and he does seem to shove it in people's faces a lot, when discussing other reboots. Here's the first time he talks about it, and the second time. What are the people here on BSN's thoughts about this? Those who've completed the game or anything? From what I gather it sounds like his opinions are based on what has been shown, and not personal experience with the game. But yeah..

Also, I haven't tried the multiplayer yet. Not really interested either.

Have not played mp but single player is fantastic, best game for 2013 for me.

Tomb Raider is super fun action game. Yes, it's unrealistic and over the top. But who cares, it's fun.
Closest thing to Uncharted we can get on PC.

Oh and the new Lara is awesome

Multiplayer is mediocre though.

Ugh, I can barely force myself to read this idiot's drivel. He clearly has not played the game, and sounds like he has a quota of b.s. to fulfill. I've seen others express that same opinion, and honestly, it sounds like he's just repeating what he's heard. I wouldn't trust that guy if my life depended on it.

This makes me laugh:

I still might check out the game, simply because it's been on the top of my watch list for so very long, but I'll go into it knowing that the artfully crafted, story-driven, and truly "mature" experience I was seeking will be a treasure that I simply won't find in Tomb Raider.

Facepalm of all facepalms.

Oh, and I have no interest in the MP, either. Haven't even tried it.

So basically no more Tomb Raider for us until they make a new game. Not good news.

Finished the game on Monday evening and I really liked it. I loved the new Lara and the overall mystery of the island.

It could have been more difficult (especially the puzzles ç_ç), but overall I really enjoyed and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good action game

Not necessarily. Hopefully they begin development on the next game early (like now:P) and will add more content and maintain the level of polish.

The next one will be next gen, so there will need to be extensive work done, especially if they optimise HDDR5

I think he overstates a valid point. Lara is properly disturbed at killing a man, but shortly thereafter is mowing people down without a second thought. I killed a LOT of people making my way through the game. Yes, the game gave me no choice. Yes, the opponents were gleefully seeking to blow her away. But the game should have shown more distress from Lara at bring forced to kill upwards of a hundred human beings. (I'm talking shell-shocked instead of "very weary" in the epilogue.)

Yes, I found that very annoying while backtracking for several of the challenges. I had the benefit of a guide book, but visiting spots I'd "probably" hit before and not being able to be SURE was annoying.

Then there were the mushrooms. They leave a bed of smaller 'shrooms behind, which I thought was helpful - until I discovered that the 'patch' I left behind contained the final mushroom, which didn't appear until I turned around and faced it from the other side...

MP is atrocious. Jerky, sluggish and buggy. I got most of my MP trophies out of the way. The last two just require an absurd amount of grinding.

I'm still taking my sweet time on the singleplayer and hopefully it lasts for awhile longer. I just got the compound bow. How much left do I have? No spoilers if possible.

Just now got the Compound Bow? There's still a bit left to the game, yeah. If you take your time, its definitely gonna be a while before its over. If you rush, then not too much.

I'm under the assumption they realize the multiplayer section is the outlier in what is otherwise an excellent game and rather than scrap it and forget it they want to focus on making it better.

I still won't care for it though. I never even gave it a chance because everything I saw and heard pre-release for it was the same- its tacked on and feels terribad.

Same thing I'm hearing post-release, so yeah. Not caring for it.
