I disagreed with a lot of what he said. He had some valid points but... Lara is definately a character making her own choices, and growing over the experience on the island. I fail to see how he can think other wise. Especially comparing her to Jason Brody...

Got to Shawnty Town after going through a lot of action sequences at the temple I was kidnapped at and a brief stop back at good old Mountain Village. Picked up more weapons and throughly explored and looted every nook I could see. Poor Lara...I ran her into some poles in the river a few times and a bunch a bunch in the forest during the parachute sequence. Have to give it to Crystal Dynamics, they made me feel really bad seeing Lara get impaled like that and the pain from it. Pretty nifty design choice combined with just tremendous characterization and likability. I got pretty challenged and died 3 or 4 times trying to take out the initial wave of baddies once you get the fire arrows from the lighter on the pilot. Pretty damn good level design for that battle. Finally got my submachine gun upgraded to an assault rifle as well.
Backtracked and got everything in every place leading up to mountain village, and there I'm 70-80% complete. Need to head back to the base, too, then I'm headed back to the new area to start back on new exploration.
Already 15-20 hours in.
Already want a sequel and more Lara. Camilla Luddington Lara.

I've got nothing against gays at all but lately it seems that being gay is cool and somehow shows "maturity". That's just not true.
I certainly do not like when it's being forced down my throat. She does not need to be gay to be a strong character.

Because she was never depicted as gay..and she's been around for decades. And obviously stat-wise as well, there's far more straight women than lesbians.
I just hope they do not make her gay just to be "cool", "trendy" and "mature".

I agree.
That said, I also believe that Lara, as the strong character she is, would be the perfect character to demonstrate that being homosexual does not necessarily make you "weaker". Not to mention that due to being so famous and iconic, Croft can also be used as a way to take this industry to the right direction in terms of sexism, homosexuality (or bi) and all that is related to such things.
All in all, I don't have anything against making her gay... as long as they don't change her personality because of it.

Nobody ever said that she wouldn't be a strong character if she was straight. Her sexuality has nothing to do with that.
I personally think its really refreshing if they truly decide to make Lara gay. She has always been one of the biggest sex symbols in the games industry and by making her gay that would only be a huge step into the right direction.

Aside from the movies she hasn't really been depicted as straight either. For decades she hasn't been given a love interest.
