One of the best moments in the game (for me) was the climb to the top of the radio tower:

The music is just epic.
Does anyone know the name of the song playing from 1:07 to 1:50 in the video above? Thanks.

It sounds like they're looping the 2:38 to 3:03 section of "A Call for Help" from the Tomb Raider soundtrack (Jason Graves).

Thank you very much!

So I rewatched the descent. Tomb Raider totally channeled that film.

It must be why I love this game so much because that movie was awesome! :P

I just finished the game and it was epic! I'm so glad I didn't let marketing videos discourage me. It has a lot of strong moments, Lara progressing from inexperienced to seasoned was very well-made. I especially liked how skill tree reflected that journey. Watching her movements evolving was fascinating.

My only complain is that protagonist's voice actress failed to deliver in emotionally intense moments a lot which had broken my immersion a couple of times. I'm not sure if the squeaking of 15 years old girl was intentional to emphasize her age (20) or not but I hope they will do something about it in a sequel. Also that they will keep her scars.

I really look forward to Tomb Raider 2.

Note: And it was probably the first game where I completed all challenges and collected all extra things :)
Note 2: Has anyone managed to take a screenshot of bad-ass Lara in the end with two pistols? :bandit: Never mind, found it :3.

Uhh everyone. You can have a non-heterosexual character be the lead series of a successful media. As long as you don't keep it as the "main focus".

I miss you Xena, you warrior princess you.

But anyway, games are the point. Gaming is still quite young, and still hasn't evolved to the point where its mature enough to accept things like lead homosexual characters.

Movies were like that too in their infancy.

Movies actually had a lot more homosexual characters in their infancy, even when it was played for Comedy. But then the ratings board and concerned parents about something or other (also known as CPASO) instituted several policies to make movies more family friendly such as the married couples with seperate beds and limits against gays in film, and when they were in the films they were antagonistic or scary.

You can't see it at all? Sometimes you just have to find a better spot. There were some tricky ones but I got them all.

In this case is really a bug already confirmed by Crystal Dynamics on the PC versions, it's a shame. :(

After reading this, I don't think it really matters whether or not Lara is gay or not. As long as her sexuality is a part of future games, be that gay or straight. It will be a plus for the industry.

I disagree, I felt Camilla Luddington(who is 29) did a very good job and this coming from someone who was very upset they replaced Lara's old voice actress.

I don't know how you're gauging how a 20 year old should sound but Camilla sounded right to me... as a 20 year old woman who goes to college and talks to other woman in that same age group.   Also Lara is 21.

Oh and random screenie...

Moments I was commenting sound like this (Beware of spoilers!). Her usual tone is closer to this and when she screams or shouts, her voice becomes more high-pitched like this. I'm familiar with these 20-something year old voices - First Second. It sounds immature for LC's age and stiff like a girl practicing a screen play on school stage and unsure how to yell at audience.

And I'm sorry for not posting better audio examples. I'd like to provide samples of yelling young females but I felt like a perv searching for it and girls on youtube like to demonstrate heavy-metal screaming anyway :D.

It reminds me of the famous Shepard/Traynor gif, lol.

I liked the part where u enter the Konami code in that one cave, and Laura runs through the whole game in a moist towel.

It is when you don't break even or make a profit because you spent too much money on the project.

Edit: Game publishers use example as female protagonists not making a profit.

Well, Tomb Raider had a long development cycle - it was announced it '10, who knows when it actually started. I'm guessing the marketing budget was also huge, so it's possible 3.8m is weak in that it doesn't, or barely, covers the total budget. Which is a huge business failure if true.

But hey, if this failure is what got Wada to leave the company I would call it a success then.

I just hope they don't sexualize Lara going forward.

That would make me very much NOT get the next games.

Even though this is a good game i hope Toriyama's replaced too.
