Regarding the Tomb Raider movie, I think it'd work best if it weren't based on the game but rather continued or complemented it. For instance, we could have a movie dealing with the aftermath of the first game and then another game picking up right where the movie ends.

I think at best this movie will be gritty like the game, Lara will look more like she is now and she will be using a bow since that is her new signature weapon(which I love) Man I love the bow. Though that duel pistol moment did make me squee

I'm still bummed about the no single-player DLC.

Hopefuly they cancell all the planned MP dlc and make sp dlc since MP is not that popular and peopel are begging for more tombs.

Yeah im still not grasping the logic behind all this either. 

I mean they really thought MP was going to be more popular then SP? 

On the one hand, we got everything that we paid for in the SP.

On the other hand, this is the one game where I wouldn't mind paying for SP DLC. Do you want my money or not CD? Cuz I sure as hell ain't spending it on your lousy MP.

Sayin' it again; Totally hooked to Ms. Croft. The thing is, I wasn't even a fan of Lara before this one, nor did I care much for the TR game that much. But this game has made me into a fan of her.

Maybe this helps? I'm not familiar with that website or its credibility, though. Forget it, links look shady. Tomb Raider HQ looks better.

Finished playing the game last night. Have to say I enjoyed playing the game. Now I will go back and start picking up all the collectibles I missed.

Looking forward to seeing what they have in-store for a sequel if there is one.

Just started it. Absolutely fantastic game! And the first five minutes or so has to be the most INTENSE opening to a game I've ever played. You really feel for the poor girl...

I agree... though it was less intense for me because i saw it a good 5 times over the course of more then  a year waiting for the game to come out.

Honestly, I don't see the point in going back to the old ones.

The new one was a reboot after all. Tomb Raider is starting fresh.

Plus, the colossal tatas of old Lara is something best left in the past.

This I'd agree with wholeheartedly. I just want to get more of Lara is all. I'm aware that the earlier Laras are nothing like this one tho.

Oh and that Sam-Lara picc is not to my tastes :| Always imagined them as dearest friends and nothing more. The awesome hand-holding walk in the fortress comes to mind.

There is really no need to. If you like the reboot, chances are you won't like the previous games at all. And honestly, this could be an indicator of good taste on your part. I like the first two for pure nostalgia reasons, but basically all the others are sadly hilarious.

Yeah, I understand. I like a lot that there is a game with heroine having a close friend and nothing more but outside of TR game I enjoy a work of some SamXLara shippers.

As for previous installments, I haven't been able to find my way to them. In my opinion, TR9 is great because it has so little in common with them. I have tried TR1, AoD and Anniversary and they all shared a lack of story, awful combat system and oversexualized Lara.
If you are tempted to try it for yourself, there are some interesting deals. A local store sells TR1-TR8 in one box for $15, for example.

Nothing wrong with enjoying them! Its just not my cup of tea. I guess we all are stuck with the images we have in our mind

And out of all the things you listed oversexualized Lara irritates me the most. I guess I'll pass them on then.

Just got the game for Xbox yesterday. Having a blast with it so far. I've played almost all the Tomb Raider games and this one is a breath of fresh air. The new Lara Croft is easily the best in the series and I'm really enjoying the island.

I have only two complaints.

1. No option to disable Survival Instinct from popping up.
2. On Xbox, the game is too dark by default. I had to mess with brightness and I hate doing that.

I do think it would sort of undermine all of the effort that went into making Lara a believable character this time around. If they did make her character gay or bisexual, that would be the headline and everybody would be focused on that.

Do you mean like it happened with Mass Effect? The series everyone remember only for having S/S intimate scene and crappy protagonist?
