Well, I don't think that's true. I remember ME for many reasons and none of them have anything to do with the S/S romances. Like I said, Lara being gay or bi would be the top headline on every gaming website and it would be what everyone would be talking about instead of things like gameplay and Lara being a realistic character this time around. It would be a distraction.

It could very well completely undermine all of the work of trying to make her a person instead of a sex symbol or cartoon. If they made her gay, I think it would only further the cause for her being just a sexy avatar that you control. She would be a sexy avatar that you control who also gets it on with other girls. Might as well say: "Lara Croft: Male Fantasy Reborn."

That doesn't mean that being a lesbian or bisexual is a bad thing or that Lara can't be any of those things. She could be, since her sexual orientation was never really explored in the previous games and developers haven't said one way or the other. But I think it's important to not be careless with this kind of stuff. It can backfire and hurt the character if not handled correctly.

Exactly. There was medialized drama about sex scene in TR. Now? Nobody talks about it. First M/M romance? There were articles about it but it's not really an issue in discussions unless it's specifically about it. FemShepXLiara gets more space than other pairings, however I don't recall an army of articles writing about Shepard's sexuality.
I don't see any evidence backing your claim.

Yeah, if CD decides to use titilization, I can see it being material for similarly graceful discussion. They convinced me at least that they don't intend to use traits which had made "old" Lara famous and a common target of derogatory remarks outside of cycle of hardcore gamers.

The ****ed up thing is I heard the japanese language support was already included in the steam version at launch and then they updated it to take it out?  Does anyone know if that's true? 

Otherwise I can understand why they did that, to make it the normal release price for videogames in Japan.

Um no people were worried about that scene, and the game in general because marketing made the game look like it was going to be torture porn; a game about watching Lara getting beaten up and making the player "want to protect Lara" from all the rapey mc rapists on the island.  

But the game turned out to be far from that and being about Lara becoming a BAMF and that's why no one talks about it.

And yes, thanks to skillful SE marketing I originally decided it is a wise decision to avoid Tomb Raider. And then came a word of mouth.

Unless you count seamless cover... I thought that was pretty groundbreaking...

Also, TressFX was graphically groundbreaking...


EDIT: Also, WELL DONE! If you actually did that painting, you are an amazing artist!! So did you actually paint it? Or is it computer generated to look like that?

Made it on Photoshop. Its one of my first attempts at digital art :|

I always disabled TressFX. Although beautiful-looking I always found it a bit jarring to see Lara have flowing clean hair with all the dirt and muck she crawls around in. That and it takes a huge toll on my modest graphic card. Normal dirty hair seems better to me xD
Can't say anything about seamless cover.. games over here come in crappy cardboard boxes.

No I mean the seamless cover system, where you don't have to push a button to get into cover, it just works so well.

*facepalm* Oh that.. Yeah that was pretty awesome. More games should do it, where you automatically go into crouch/cover mode when combat is initiated. If I'm not wrong Watch Dogs also has a similer system.

Wanted to ask you mates what would you like to see in the next game. The Island was pretty awesome, and it's gonna be very difficult to top that.

I'd love a snow forest setting, like in the film The Grey with Liam Neeson.

Atlantis! Something underwater-y. I think the last game already combined a lot of elements on the island: snow, sand, jungle.

I hope we get to keep the bow cause being stealthy made me feel so boss.

There were hints during the ending scenes as to where the next game could go. I don't have the link right now but someone analyzed the diary she is holding during the last scene and the words "Crotoan" were etched on it in big letters, so we may be going to Murica next. Apart from that.. Atlantis I do hope, or anything to do with Egypt/Babylon/Persia/Greece cause I'm a sucker for anything in ancient Mediterranean/middle east. And I hope they include more/difficult puzzles in the next game; it was one of the few things I found disappointing in this game

Regarding the bow I think it'll be included in the next game in one form or other because its her new signature weapon now.

Also, anyone has any idea about what this Tomb Raider: Reflections is that I've been hearing about?

There's absolutely no information on it so far. It could be anything: a sequel, spinoff or a even a mobile game.
