Maybe I will get this around $20-$30. It does look like a very good game.

they aren't even that quick, time slows down and the circle closes before showing you what you have to press, if it was God of War or RE4 quicktimes then yeah but I felt these flowed smoothly.sympathy4sarenreturns wrote...
The QTE's, an abundance of them, means this game is a no go for me. Devs never learn. I wonder how many neat cutscenes I've missed while to focusing on lame quick button prompts over the years. Or getting a boss defeated by great skill and strategy, only to die at the end because I had no idea Y, X, Y would flash up really quickly.
Maybe I will get this around $20-$30. It does look like a very good game.

I'm almost over the QTE's. It is unbelievable how many QTE's there are. Too bad, because gameplay is great... interrupted by an endless parade of QTE's....
After 1-2 hours of gameplay, QTEs begin to vanish, unless you want to go in for close combat. Which can be easy to avoid with guns, special thanks to Trench Gun! Still getting random "hugging moments" that require QTEs but rare.
I was terrified by the amount of QTE at start, it felt like Hugo/Dragon's Lair.
Also, try to avoid subtitles... How did they think painting them in different neony colours and giving a black background, is a good idea?!? My tiny mind cannot fathom :/

I'm having a ball with the actual tomb raiding. So far, I've only got two under my belt, but I'm looking forward to more. And I'm finding myself completely obsessed with collecting relics, documents, etc. And somehow I'm missing one of the totems in the very first area. I went back more than once, but still can't find one. Argh!

Will definitely buy this game, but because I have several other games to finish I'll try to wait.
I did watch Conan O'Brien's "clueless gamer" review of Tomb Raider and thought it was hilarious:
Wow that review is hilarious, but I don't think I could ever buy this game now that I saw her head get repeatedly skewered by Conan. Because I'm pretty sure thats how my game would run.
I'm going to go get some therapy now.

I went to redeem my 'Tomb Raider Scavenger Hunt DLC items', on the TR website, with my GameStop receipt code, and got a message that the promotion was over. What the...?
I haven't tried the preorder bonus code yet. Hope that works.
Did you guys on Xbox do a hard drive install, or just play from disc? I know I should do a hd install, but I'm lazy. I didn't have any issues with it from disc, but thought I'd ask before I get too far into things, considering I only have one save file.

Did you finish all the challenges? The expiration for the promo was March 5th, but I believe you can claim it anytime afterwards if you finished the challenges.happy_daiz wrote...

You're welcome. Anyway,
Yeah I always do HDD installs. The disc doesn't spin, the console has to work less, there's less noise, load times are faster, etc etc

Would you say the QTEs are Resident Evil 6 levels of bad? I.e they come entirely out of left field and are mostly trial & error and includes the obnoxious analog stick wiggling?

I don't think its RE bad though- these you can expect sometimes, though others do come out of left field.
Still, there are too many. I wish it was like The Witcher 2 and I could toggle them off.

Oh, the silly stick wiggling. I suppose you can reason that it makes sense, but it is a bit annoying.

Thanks to hunting I've been able to upgrade all my stuff as much as I can(for now), and I've picked up an extra skill I probably would've got later on.
I'm thinking I'll keep hunting and stuff in the areas to gain experience a little earlier than expected and to save up some salvage points so I can upgrade my stuff later on.

I got that skill where you can use survival mode to see items through walls, so I'm back-tracking to get items I missed. Good stuff.
