I highly doubt the comic has made the Sam x Lara ship canon (but Sam calling Lara "babe" does give me hope it does).

Lara very much looks like she has feelings for Sam. I think it's great.

Only a F.A.G would not enjoy girl-on-girl attraction.

Aaaaand this was my point with the 'old self'. I didn't like sociopath Lara and i'd prefer she keeps some of her self instead of going completely bonkers.

Sam staying alive and helping her in some cases would be best than another 'pointless' death. I

I wouldn't say old Lara was a sociopath when judging her past interactions with her mentor, mother, supposed to be dead friend, DAngel dude etc. Though few we've seen some bits of emotional vunerability from her but i hope reboot Lara in comparison hasn't been wussyfied though.

There's nothing 'wussy' about Lara in Tomb Raider 2013. She endures a ton of personal, physical, and emotional trauma, kills a lot of people, and at the end she defeats her archenemy by ramming a climbing ax into the back of his head and filling him full of lead.

^Exactly, she fought and survived in an island full of sickos. I hardly call it 'wussy'.  If so then Nathan Drake is also a wuss.

She's just a normal human being and dare say, more normal than old Lara.

They were originally going to kill Sam but decided it was too much and too cliche. I doubt they will change their mind and look back at that option but who knows. I can see her turning evil ala Amanda from Tomb Raider Legacy.

Also old Lara was pretty much a bored rich girl bordering on sociopath, but I still loved her :P

Mind you i mean her character's potential and demeanor in comparison to the classic. What she accomplished is cool and all for a rookie Croft or your average game protag but i hope her persona is expanded beyond Sam, and she gains her iconic flair/style too.

Me personally i feel she's lacking a lot but since TR 2013 is only Lara's first adventure i'll reserve any further judgement for the sequel though. Oh yeah less Sam too. The prospect of her being Princess Peached by each game's new big bad makes me feel ugh.

She's young. I think there's a safe bet that she'll evolve, will become smarter and more experienced. But i'd like for her to keep some of the personality she had and not be a cold hearted sociopath as 'classic' was.

Sure, hopefully they'll kill her naiveté. Her screaming of Sam's name too, but only for outside the bedroom. :D

To the classic series credit, Last Revelations added much needed meat and potatoes to her character's persona, and history. I agree about the first three of 5 during the ps1 era though.

Plus srsly. There needs to be more supernatural enemies right off the bat like ghosts, dragons, mummies, mutants, and yetis like in the old games. This in contrast to UC's non supernatural angle.

I doubt that will happen. Sam would need to travel with Lara to be in danger and I doubt Lara would let that happen.

Right, my mistake.

Question for everybody here: what other supernatural archaeological trip should Lara go on?

They should hold off on the Natla/Atlantis storyline for a little bit or build it up slowly, and or in the background.

With all the locations she's been to, New Jersey would be nice. Who'd think to look for anything over here?

All I know is that that notebook at the end had a reference to the Lost Colony in the American state of North Carolina.

EDIT: The Internet, being the Internet, had a hard time figuring this out, and at least half of what I've seen on Tumblr about that has claimed that "CROATOAN" is, like, Croatia. Which it isn't.

Imagine the disappointment if the Jersey Devil turned out to be an elaborate 3 centuries old hoax that's created by old man Mcdougal's 17x great grandfather Eustace, a miner who secretly discovered a nugget of gold, in order scare people away from his family's unsuccessful hunt for more gold.

I like the idea of exploring sunken cities. Atlantis is not alone in that premice and there's allot of gameplay to be explored there, and an underwater game could have a nice look to it. The environments, weaponry, equipment, and outfits would be new. Maybe a big ocean map to explore, and over the course of your adventure you pinpoint the entrance to Atlantis.

Jersey is interesting too, the idea of being so close by people is pretty enticing by itself. Treasure and adventure don't always have to be found in distant locals... People are finding Kings under parking lots afterall, should be grounds enough for some adventure. Plus having civillization so close at hand might be interesting, give Laura a chance to show what she can do with her money, and offer a new system for items and currency.

How about Canada? Allot of room for adventure, some leeway for the supernatural even if you want to avoid upsetting anyone by taking inspiration from native tradition, lots of possibilities for dangerous animals: real, extinct, and mythical. Though not exactly a place you'd expect to find the treasures of some great lost culture... but if you're going to throw in the supernatural and advanced ancient civilizations into the mix might as well get away with adding in ruins of a mystery culture.

How a South American themed setting? Like Lara could be hunting down Paititi and the legends surrounding the paqarina.
