I do love how human she is and that she doesn't feel very artificial(to me at least).

She still hates killing people where I left off at(many hours ago). She's still screaming at them that they don't have to kill her.

Its good.

Let me read you the description of the Tier 2 Ability "Dodge Counter"-

After dodging an enemy, stab them in the knee with an arrow to cripple them and leave them vulnerable to a killing blow.

You will never unsee it now.

Do areas get bigger after the plane wreck? I haven't seen a single tomb and everything is fairly linear and scripted. Still enjoying it though.

I've run into two tombs so far. The downloaded one that Gamestop gave(which is quite early on, like before Lara gets her first human kill) and the second I found again early on.

So they are there.

So I realized in one of the areas that a whole section was gonna be impossible to fully traverse without rope arrows, which are acquired later in the story than I am, so I decided to carry on.

I've just killed Mr. Big Bad with the Riot Shield and have reached a camp to save at.

Traded the Makeshift Bow for a Recurve Bow and have acquired my first rifle which I've begun upgrading.

The game is fun for people who like to explore and find loot. I hope after I beat the game I can still go back and find everything.

Oh and Slim-

Don't stay on the expected path without looking around. You'll miss a TON of stuff like that.

Skyrim easter egg!!! Good find, LP.

Are you sure it is an easter egg and not just knee stabbing?

Where I've gotten, the most she does is yelling at them in frustration to bring it on (because by this point it is clear it will be brought regardless) but she doesn't do any snappy retorts which I find refreshing.

Lara Croft was somehow fathered by John Rambo.

Oh, crap, I forgot to download that one from GameStop. Oops.

Well, I do know that there are two in Mountain Village (one in the first part, and one...later). There are also two in Shantytown. That's about as far as I've gotten. Just look for the white painted symbols. They're pretty much a billboard for tombs. Some signify snipers and whatnot, but you'll know these symbols when you see them.

Looks like there are 7 optional tombs, plus the bonus one for Gamestop, (which doesn't count towards Intellectually Superior achievement).

Also, I highly recommend the Orienteering skill from the Survival tree (hardened level II). If you're having trouble finding loot, just go into survival mode, and look around. If you're within a certain proximity to anything, and simply look in that general direction, it will pop up on your map. And it's cool to see stuff through walls.

I also just found an interactive map.

Total sidenote, but I almost didn't notice when Brawler popped up as a Skill set. Those skills are pretty sweet, and as you'd imagine, they help in combat.

I got to impress my husband with my Dodge Counter on one of those shield guys (arrow to the knee). It was beautiful. Also, I've been having a lot of fun doing finishers with my climbing axe. Hehe.

Again, went back and am looking for stuff. LOOT LOOT EVERYWHERE

Hey mom, if you're still missing the last nest you couldn't find, I think you need to spawn at the Overlook camp and then get on the roof of one of the houses directly below it.

I've never played any but the first, and then again, what I did play of the first spent jumping around in the mansion and locking the butler in the freezer. (If that was indeed, the first.)

I'm interested in the reboot, and from what I've heard, it's good. But I'd like to here it from here, since the people I've asked aren't really into games, per se. They might have liked it because Lara looked hot and nothing else. So I think here's a better place than any to get an opinion on it.

Oh adding onto simfamSp's question:

Is the game comparable to Far Cry 3 in terms of how Jason evolves into a killer, how it changes him and becomes perhaps even more worse than the pirates themselves.

Free roam island.

Sinister themes in the story such as in Far Cry 3, people like Doug from Bangkok hunt people down all over the world to trick them into visiting Rook Islands to then be sold as sex slaves.

Twisted inhabitants like Resident Evil, Pirates and the privateers from Far Cry 3.

=

I suggest going through the thread to look for recent feels, but it seems positive(minus the quicktime events, but those become less frequent as the game goes on).

I didn't play Far Cry 3, but Lara does change over the course of the game. Starts out young and not used to hardship, sad to kill an animal, having a breakdown after killing her first human, pleading with them to not kill her, that they don't have to do it-

and matures into someone badass who puts down oncoming waves of bad guys because they're in her way.

The island is not free roam. Its basically a bunch of zones that once you're in you can explore at free will, so its a lot like The Witcher 2 and Dragon Age in that sense.

As far as sinister themes- ehh, kinda. Spoilerific.

Twisted inhabitants- yeah, you could say that. Again, spoilerific.

I've only played it for a few hours but I don't get the comparisons to Uncharted. It's nothing like Uncharted. Sure, the themes are similar and it's a little more cinematic now, but that's really it. Just like Uncharted took inspiration from TR and crafted its own soul, TR is doing the same to Uncharted. I really like it so far. Worthy reboot of a franchise that really needed it.
