Seriously, we need these two back.   Despite the fact that they were only in a 2 hour long DLC, the main reason I enjoyed Witch Hunt was because of them.   They also seemed like they had interesting stories to tell, and could become much deeper characters.

With the circle having officially dissolved/separated anyway, Finn would be on his own, and I'm sure Ariane could show up somehow too, so you can fit them in quite nicely to the existing situation of the world.

Finally, they don't have very deep backstories yet, so for newer players they can be reintroduced and expanded upon nicely.

They were cool. If I had to pick one over the other, I'd definitely go with Ariane, but yeah. I'd like to see them again in some capacity.

Oh yes.

Ariane is one of my favorite companions (don't ask me why, we just clicked), and Finn is a nice example of a well-balanced mage happy with his condition, and an adorable geek.

Finn is the only one I remember in any detail out of the two, because his personality was quite unique with his scaredy-cat routine. I think having a nervous or twitchy companion might be entertaining, as long as it's not overused.

Ariane is actually one of the few "normal" people you can meet in the games. Not a freak or cliche type of char. That's why I like her.
And Finn is the polar opposite and therefore a good addition. Both would be a good couple, I think.

I feel the same way. It would be nice to see Ariane return. I thought she was an interesting character. I'm sure she would have an interesting perspective on Orlais and Tevinter, given the history her people has with those societies. 'We are the Dalish: keepers of the lost lore, walkers of the lonely path. We are the last of the Elvhenan, and never again shall we submit.'

God, I loved Finn so much. He might have been a little boring for a full-length game without additional personality traits...

BUT

The idea of a mage who was VERY comfortable in the Circle in the midst of this huge mage/templar conflict as a companion is a very interesting idea to me. Could be interesting. And he WAS a healer.

*sigh* This is what comes from making all the good healing spells a specialization; we're forced (or if not forced, then heavily pushed) towards every game having a healer companion. I so wish they would incorporate spirit healer abilities into the normal creation tree...but that's another thread.

I'd rather have all new companions, but I could live with those two returning. They were entertaining and haven't been around long enough to grow old on me.

Yes, I'd love to see those 2 again, especially Finn. I wonder how he took the whole ending of the circle system.

No way. With our luck, they'll radically change their personalities the way they radically changed Anders, Justice, Merrill, and other DA:O and DA:A characters to the point that everything we know and like about them are completely gone. I'd rather BioWare just create a different character than take an old character's face and put in a new personality anyway.

If they can be brought back consistent with their established personalities and in a way that makes sense, then that would be lovely. Otherwise, let them remain as a fond memory of companions past.

I would love to see them back, especially Ariane. I believe that they offer interesting character development and backstories beyond what we already know.

Id be interested in knowing how many don't know who they are.

How many people bought the DLC compared to those who didn't?

I think they already have their characters established anyway,

Putting aside my general apprehension about having a lot of cameos when we move from region to region for each game, I would definitely like to see Finn return. He was actually upset about having to leave the circle just for a short time, so seeing him during the Mage-Templar War would be very interesting.

I would like to see Ariane again as well, but only if she's somehow involved in a Morrigan-Flemeth plot, given that she has the tome that talks about Eluvians. That said, I hope that they don't bring her back without letting her be a warrior dual-wielding swords, and I hope they don't completely butcher her face, in particular given the new design for elves.

Some romance between the 2 potentially?

I think a dev once commented that s/he invisioned them running off together and having adventures. Obviously not canon, but still.

On topic, I'd love to see both of them again, and of all the DA1 companions they'd be my first choices for companions over cameos.

Hm, I liked them both well enough, but I stand by my opinion that the only returning Companion I'd like is Carver and Bethany.

Didn't the Talking-Tevinter-Statue-of-Ambiguous-Prophecy kind of sorta imply that Finn would be dying soon? Totally expected him to keel over at some point of that expansion. But yeah I liked him more than whatserface too. Mostly because aforementioned whatserface did more damage than my Warden.

HOW DARE SHE. XD

I know, right? The nerves!

I don't think the statue was talking about Finn's demise but its own "deactivation". If memory serves. Been a long time since I played Witch Hunt.

She said "We will not meet again." Finn took that to mean he could die, but Finn has a touch of hypochondria about him, so naturally he would assume the absolute worst possibility.

There's a lot of non-fatal ways to interpret that prediction. Like, maybe Finn would not be returning to the tower, or she was being moved to another tower when he was away.

Was really hoping these two would pop up when you delivered Flemeth's amulet to Sundermount. Hopefully Witch Hunt will have some impact in this game. I need to find out what happens, but I don't want either back as a party member.

I want all new companions but cameos of any of the old companions would be nice.
