Srsly? It was a 2 hour DLC and the only personality that got fleshed out at all was that Finn was OCD and Arianne was hostile during first impressions and wanted her book back. Their banter was cute but we learn virtually nothing about them.

AAaaand since I started Witch Hunt at Lvl 35 they were pre-built and unchangable. I imported better gear for both of them, which helped. Yet in the end the only reason Arianne ever stayed alive was because Finn was there with his healing and locking enemies down so they wouldn't kill her. Really, who gives a Lvl 35 warrior 20 constitution?

Alright, gameplay wasn't that relevant. So my strong point here is my first: I liked them OK, but they were not around long enough to really get to know them enough to even warrant caring if I see them again or not.

Edit: And they were not presented in a manner like Charade in which it was blatantly hinted at in teaser fashion that they would be in upcoming installments of the series.

Their 2 hours make them practically new as potential companions, though. I thought Finn was unique in the series in how he approached his magedom, and with his linguistics focus, he makes an interesting addition to the Inquisition, I think. Ariane was kind of a creme de la creme Dalish warrior, hand selected to make that trip, so that makes her interesting to me. That, and I'd love to see her interacting with a Dalish Warden again, ten years out or whatever it is.

And my characters practically never got over 22 constitution anyway. ;-) I tended to get Sten to 28, Oghren just shy of that, and Shale and Dog were very high, but that's it. My characters routinely have low constitution.

And Charade I'd love to see back, too.

Haven't changed my opinion on the 2nd post of this thread, but I think I'd like to see Finn a little more than before.

Still want some more Ariane though.

Throwing in my meager mage hat behind these two as well. Ariane and Finn were, easily, the best part of Witch Hunt (which was also kind of sad considering it was supposed to be about Morrigan...). Honestly I think it had some of the best party banter David ever wrote. It felt like the spirit of Joss Whedon had come along and influenced him. I loved the idea of the two of them becoming the Warden's knew traveling companions as he set off to unravel the mystery that Morrigan had left him (my Warden didn't follow her through the mirror). Would be great if they were companions, sharing stories of what happened post WH.

The thing about Ariane is that, wouldn't she have to become suddenly welsh? Would she even be recognizable if she did return? Can you even bring her back in that case? I feel like even if Bioware brought her back she likely would be "Ariane" anymore. It's different with every case of course, but I felt like out of all the returning Dalish characters  for DA2, only Marathari was at all even  semi-recognizable as the character we knew from the first game.

It's called the Merrill complex. Remember, she had an american accent in DAO  but a welsh one in da2.

I'd definitely like those two back, Ariane in particular. She was the most... sane Dalish companion we've had (even though I loved Merrill and Velanna), and she's not as likely to have her face changed as extensively thanks to the new elven design. She was also involved with the Morrigan storyline, which seems to be important in Inquisition.

Finn could also be very interesting. I'd love to see how he's dealing with the dissolution of the circle.

Alright I'm gonna be the jerk and nitpick this: Irish! The Dalish, with the exception of Merrill and her original clan for reasons explained in the game, have Irish accents.

Some of them were Welsh, some were Irish, some were Scottish. I don't think there was any rhyme or reason to which elf had which accent. Merril was the most prominent example and she was welsh. Plus "welsh" was the thrown around in marketing most often when talking about the new dalish.

My point was that it rendered them all like they were totally different people.

It would be great if they could make an appearance in DA:I (especially as companions), but if we don't get that, I wouldn't mind maybe seeing them in a comic or a book, with the focus being just on them as they travel around Thedas.

Reading this thread I feel as if I am one of the few people that did not like Finn. Found him nearly insufferable enough to the point I hoped that what the statue said meant he was going to die...there and then.

I liked Ariane though. Preferred her infinitely over Velanna.

I could see Finn as a non companion NPC useful for exposition.

Both are level 30. Not good for balance.

Shepard isn't Level 50 in ME2, when you import from ME 1

Some romance between the 2 potentially?

I think a dev once commented that s/he invisioned them running off together and having adventures. Obviously not canon, but still.

On topic, I'd love to see both of them again, and of all the DA1 companions they'd be my first choices for companions over cameos.

I'd play that.

I was bumed they weren't in DA2, so I would like to see them in any new game.

Hopefully not as dead bodies, or there just to die

O i would love if these two returned at very least have some closure on them if you think about it there the only 2 companions that don't have some form of ending or good buy sure other may reappear and play a big role but in the game or story they were introduced they all had a mini arc to them that warden or hawke helped solved then they left to go on to do more but these two did not even get to say good buy or end there mission or any thing even if you dont go threw the mirror with morrigan the dlc just ends I want to know what happened to them did they just blow up after word or what. That and they make an awesome and funny duo possibly trio if you count the dog and of course why would you not after all the dog did not go threw the mirror with warden and Morrigan.

I am curious how Finn is doing with the Circle being dissolved. Did he have to leave the comfy, clean tower to trudge around like some fugitive? Oh, the horror! Perhaps the whole Tower in Fereldan stayed out of it, Templars and mages both.

Maybe Ariane is helping out, but I don't think a Dalish clan would be too happy having a human sticking around.
