I think the next installment should be handled like dragon age origins.
Possibly early in the ME universe where humans have just joined the galactic community. Also allow some of the comics and books to added into the game as cannon.
Allow players to play as most of the known species such as Human, Asari, Turian, Salarian, Krogan, Batarian, Quarian, Volus.
Also have set voice actors for male and female for what gender the player chooses.
Have each gender voice have vocal effects for the different species.
Finally witness the rise of The Shepard.
Another great Plot would be around the start of the rachni wars and uplift of the krogan and subsequent rebellions.
There is my idea for ME4 please send me feed ack on what you personally would like or what should be done Thank you.
ps I do not work for Bioware but writing scifi games and story has always been a dream of mine.
A fresh start for ME4 in the mass effect Universe

Thanks for the support I think this is how mass effect could've been in the first place instead of playing as a singular character the entire series

The costs for that race choice, in VA lines, wirting, etc... is prohibitive. Reducing it to Human m/f, Turian m and asari would be more within reason, but still too expensive for Bioware as they're already cutting corners.

How hard is it to use the same two voice actors for all species and then use voice filters to distinguish them?Gisle-Aune wrote...

That's right, not hard at all. The dialogue is going to be 99% the same anyway.

Well that is if you want "meaningful" dialogue. Because think about it, if Asari and Turiens are added in they're going to have completely different backgrounds and lines of thoughts compared to their Human counterparts. It'd be pretty bland if all your dialogue was neutral towards everyone.

I hope in the MEU we can customize our character and have voice dialogue something that is kept from ME trilogy none of the DOA limitation in character and text dialogue. Before ME1 do not know what type of story can be with the 3 different ends after ME3.

I have to agree with this. As long as we have voiced protagonists, this is never going to happen. You're talking about hiring many different actors, and multiplying the amount of space taken up on the disc by dialogue data by ten or more. Even if you use one voice actor and filters, you'd still have to write and include dozens or hundreds of extra little lines here and there, or variations on lines, to account for the different race and gender combinations.
I could see them maybe including two races... Humans and Asari, since there's typically no verbal distinction between the two in terms of sound. Anything else, I can almost guarantee the budget team at Bioware would shoot down.
As for a post ME3 story, I actually don't see a super big problem with the different choices at the end of 3. If the story was written in a way that none of the three endings would have an amazing impact on it (don't include synthetics so you don't contradict destroy, don't have any giant space-borne obstacles so that you don't have the explain why the Shepard-controlled Reapers don't get involved, etc...) all you'd have to do is engage a filter that turned everyone's eyes green in the case of a Synthesis import. And the story could just go on from there. If they were feeling particularly lazy, they could explain how following Synthesis, new modifications were developed to hide the most obvious aspects of the change... and presto, they wouldn't even need the green eyes.
