In Alistar's case, you were given plenty of warning. Not only from Wynne, but from Eoman's wish for him to assume the throne.
The same is true of Morrigan and Anders. Those three characters have "THIS COULD END VERY BADLY" written all over them in neon lights. Of course, I still romanced them
Being able to call out the LI on his/her bull should also go both ways. If the PC is being unreasonable or crappy, the LI should be able to respond to it. Of course, people get touchy on this front, but it'd be realistic and interesting. I know I've had PCs who could really use a good smack upside the head every now and then.
Espically I think that the Li's are being a little too reasonable if you are two-timing.
Really, they could stand to get a little more mad at the PC.

No matter what Cullen is an unrealiable turncoat to me. I have seen him change opion rapidly over two games and while I do not think it unrealistic for a guy who has been through what he has been through, I as a player is incapable of see him as moderate since I will know what he did in da2.
Cullen is hawt and therefore, I forgive him. I would adore having him. I would also like to have him as a LI.
And I would like to have the option to tell off the LI or punish them a little if I get treated poorly. I don't want to lose them over it, but if they're going to be buttholes, they should have to suffer a little angst as well and get over it like my PC did. (Alistair & the whole non-noble thing, Fenris and the whole memory thing, Anders and the whole kill-them-all thing...) A good relationship can persevere through mistakes and shortcomings, but that doesn't mean someone should just get away scott free with acting like a jerk.
And since I mentioned Alistair, I would really like to NOT have to make horrid choices in order to keep the LI. Anything that makes someone unfaithful to me is just not fun. I can choose between them and another companion that I really like (sorry, Ashley), forgive them for murdering people that I really like (sorry, Grand Cleric), but sleeping with someone else affects me directly and, after all, this is my game so it really is all about me. And I like it that way.I also don't want to get dumped by the LI through no fault of my own. If I really ****** them off, I deserve to get kicked to the curb. But if I'm a good girl (mostly), then I want to reap the rewards of those actions, not get kicked in the teeth.
I feel the same way, though I'm sure many people here will disagree.
Being forced to watch my partner get it on with someone else is something that I will inevitably take personally, even if it's just a video game. And that will ruin that romance for me forever.
I didn't mind it too much in DA:O as it was optional, though it did lead to my one and only female Warden doing the ultimate sacrifice. I could never bear Alistair putting his grubby paws on Morrigan...and she wasn't even with my Warden. So i guess I prefer death over cheating. (From that point onward, I have always played a male Warden, even though I dislike playing a male PC.)
Pretty skewered priorities, yeah, but there you have it.
You basically have to force Alistairs hand even if you are female, how is that cheating?
But different priorities I guess. If my LI or my PC have the choose between cheating or causing the death of both of us I would prefer an LI intellegent enough to realize that death is final, cheating is not.
I really can't understand this point of view.

Well, getting cheated on vs. dying a heroic death and being remembered as a martyr.
You may have to force him, yes, but that doesn't change the reality of the act. He is going to enjoy it, whether he intends to or not. 'Cheating' may not be the ideal term, no, but it's quicker than writing 'sharing a bed with someone else'.
It's not a very logical view, to be fair, so I totally understand that a lot of people see it differently.
I guess it all boils down to how sensitive one is when it comes to that particular subject.

I still don't consider it cheating when your character are the one asking. Cheating is just the wrong word here, no matter how sensitive for you it is.
And even if he is physically enjoys it, he still hates Morrigan, and thus the level of of satisfaction he gets for it might just add to the humiliation he properly feels.
If anything the one the dark ritual is bad for is Alistair. I always felt bad for him there. Being forced or pressured into sex is never funny.

It is not such much if the act is enjoyable as it is the fact that not just do you have to rely on a person you hate to save you, but also have to do something so intimate as sleeping with them.
It is a double humiliation.
If it was a female we were forcing (sorry pressurring) we would be much more up in arms over it than we is.

I dare say it was humiliating for both Morrigan and Alistair, doubly so if either Morrigan, Alistair or both hate you lol.

Well, Morrigan is the one who wants to do it so I feel a little less sorry for her.
But poor Alistair, espicially in my play through were he was basically dumped for Zevran. He was not having a good year.

Wasn't the reason her mother sent her off with the Warden and Alistair was so that she could do the dark ritual?

I suspect her mom knows about it because she herself is an OGB.

I like: Being able to tell your LI you love them or have them say "I love you" - because words hold weight with me, being able to kiss them at your leisure (I am glad they are bringing this back), Being able to disagree with them and still be in a relationship (rivalmances in DA2), and moments in the story that test your relationship (Alistair becoming King in DA:O or Morrigan and the Dark Ritual).
I would like it if there was a side quest in DA3 where the LI rescues your character or vice versa from being kidnapped (maybe I just want to see an LI or PC carry an LI or PC after they've been injured).
Also, lots of feels. Feels are good.

Well, since it's already been decided WHO the romances are, I just hope that the writers work hard so that their romances are memorable and satisfying to play through. I think the romances in Origins were better overall, but I liked certain elements of the romances in each of the games.
It has? When? How did I MISS that?

Gaider just said that they are well past the stage where LIs are being decided.

In Dawn of the Seeker, there seemed to be a lot of romantic tension between Casandra and Regalyan, if that`s his name. Sooo, wouldn`t it be a little awkward to have her as a LI? I mean if she is to be a LI, maybe I got the movie wrong, or he dies at some point, or leaves her, or she him... in which case we get her even more emotionally scarred.
Sorry for bad English

The movie is not canon, I believe.
Not to mention that opinions differ on how interested in him Cassandra actually was. Some believe that little peck at the end was more of a 'Sorry, you're cute and all, but no go' thing.

but all I want is a female kossith LI. (I'm still using the term since I don't want an actual qunari, sorry Gaider!)
I don't know why people keep apologizing when they use the term incorrectly (especially in this case, since what you seem to mean by "an actual qunari" is one who doesn't believe in the Qun-- which is a tal'vashoth). The idea that people want to use lore terms but do so incorrectly is a little dumb, but that's their problem. It doesn't upset me.
As for in-game romance options, we're well past deciding which characters can be romanced in DA3. Speculate on who they might be, if you prefer, but there's really no point in anyone requesting them. Sorry.
I thought Tal'vashoth was someone who didn't just reject the qun, but was actively fighting against it. Anyway, I'll be using that term from now on.

To be honest i had a lot to do with skyrim and my interest on DA origin was first of all the romance part that make it special and unique. I was not disapointed at all. Morrigan, Zevran, Alistair, Leliana and big special to the first trio change completly my vision of the game and i felt less playing a copy of Lord of the Ring (the movie). I enjoyed the companion missions discover every single one of them. That was pretty funny discovering the Golem was a woman and gladly surprised that the charadesign was a freat success and equal.
Dragon age Origin is still playable to me cause it interaction with the companions.
Unfortunatly for Dwarves Elves Qunaries they were too much human in the game. Bioware forgot that maybe as a dwarf or elf u would like to date same race.
The more complex the better...
Love and romance are necessary and without sex there is no life. So we don't need porn, but we are not nuns. We need more devellopment in that part. Our characters are not nuns and playing hours and hours of gaming action without a possibility of relaxing is just boring.
Skyrim add marriage and house. Dragon age Origin go beyond that with the psychology. W want that back and no cut scenes or at least more lovers things cuddlings and others.
At the very last leave an opportunity to the modders. We are in the third millenium now...
