I agree with the majority of your points but telling other players how they should play just doesn't seem right.

I don't do that. I don't even want a Tactical Cloak nerf.

So how would you go about balancing the overpowered tactical cloack without a nerf?

It should be left as it is. The thing is, too many people would be butthurt about it and would stop playing the game. It's too late.

I'd be pretty disapointed if Tactical Cloak worked the same way in ME4 though.

I'd be happy with a TC nerf in the form of making it like Volus TC (no damage boost, not part of the global cooldown) as long as it got fixed so that it actually CLOAKED you properly. Like in ME2.

They could then replace TC in the power tree with something that just gave a % boost to weapon damage, like AR.

That actually wouldn't be a nerf at all, but my points stands.

Just nerf the Claymore and get it over with... it's the real culprit here.

I'd redesign TC, something like this:

Rank 4: Weapon Damage 25% or Power Damage 25%
Rank 5: Recharge Speed 50% (a big buff) or Movement Speed 25%
Rank 6: Duration 100% or Bonus Power

TC would not override the CD of other powers. Using a power from within TC would trigger the CD of the other power (unless you took the rank 6 bonus power evo). Also immediately breaking TC upon shooting would not trigger the minimum 3 sec CD, but the actual CD based on whatever your weapon is and how heavy it is.

Nerf console auto-aim too. That way when they discover they can't hit anything they'll start yelling to have it back and never complain about it again.;)

I would be fine with tweaking of tactical cloak. Early in the process of playing the game (Demo). I used bonus power evo exclusively because I assumed that it was the only way you would be able to get a power out and bonus weapon damage in the same cloak cycle. I couldn't fathom having a evo for that when you could forgo it completly and still get all the benefits of damage.

I'm also not sure why tactical cloak affects power damage while a power like adrenaline rush gets none of these perks and you must take the bonus power evo and then are only allowed to use a single power during the entire duration, which is quite long in comparison. Especially when the one signature offensive power on a cooldown of a human soldier is concussive shot that was underwhelming intitialy and is a power that is designed to be spammed.

Please come use our aim-bot ability. It is the best example of Bioware's tagline of "Working as intended". I'm actually gotten dizzy becuase of the disorientation cause by the auto-aim.

I'll buy you an xbox and ME3

You get me a PC rig and ME3

we can play and compare nots. Does this sound reasonable? ;)

I guess one acceptable nerf would be :

Evos 4 become Evos 6
Evos 5 become Evos 4
Evos 6 become Evos 5

Then you have to invest 6 points to get the max out of Tactical Cloak, no matter your weapon. Just like ... well, every other power in the game.

There is no problem whatsoever with "crutch" characters. The vast majority of players who aren't good on a novaguard will suck with a TGI or krogan vanguard. That said, I have no issue with noob-friendly characters like the TGI. I'd wager a large majority of players pug, including myself, and increasing our chances of survival in any way is something I approve of. If that sub-par TGI who scores 50k by the end of the game saves his won ass by stimpacking a couple times instead of going down and not burning a medigel, I'm all for it.

Remember sirian, console auto-aim is a detriment to their skillz....

That's why games like UT3 on console have auto aim where the gun quite literally shoots at the nearest target instead of the actual crosshair on your screen making aiming irrelevant.

Plus, I never see any of them getting 20 headshots. If the auto-aim is so bad, why do they never attempt to NOT use it and aim after zooming in...?

You use a mouse every day.

Sirian has probably not touched a controller in years.

Figure a hipster like yourself would be all over this (mac) like a chargeless krogan vanguard.

I thought you were only cool if you had a mac.

Those go together very well.
Also, BUY A FREAKING USB CORDED/WIRELESS MOUSE
IT IS WORTH $20, more so if you buy a decent one. even more if you buy a "gamer" one. But the most basic corded USB mouse will be fairly cheap, and much much more useable than the touchpad. Espicially if you`re using any form of a drafting program.

EDIT:

Because it's alot easier/faster to just take what it gives you instead of trying to track a laterally moving target at ranges that are often too close for a scope to be optimal.

Remember... we can't laterally swing our weapons as fast as you guys can either (no look sensitivity adjustment). So while you can keep your reticle near a Dragoon on the run, he just sprints out of our sight picture and we have to reaquire the target.

Basically... mouse > controller....

Don't speak you computing foreign tongue to me! Allow me to wollow in my self imposed ignorance. I don't use my laptop for any gaming and I wasn't trying to imply that macbook was overly good at anything. I was just trying to point out that I don't use a mouse everyday.

Clearly it shows that in an anterior life Heroic hailed from the PC Master Race.

He was sent to save the console scrubs from the auto aim.

Yeah, Tatty has told me many times of Heroic's headshot prowess.

He'll be announcing their engagement any day.

I am of course, joking about the auto-aim. But the vast majority of console players would struggle more without it. Especially with the low max sensitivity on consoles.

If you watch gameplays on xbox (not just ME3) you can see how useful autoaim is when your precision is controller-level instead of mouse level. For example, in the CoD games, a lot of the better players quickly notice when the auto-aim "tugs" on their crosshair, so they know there's an enemy at long range even if they can't see it.

etc. etc.

And seriously Bechter? A Mac, with no mouse? Before this, our interactions had given me quite a high opinion of you (as console scrubs go). No longer.

:P
