Since the pylon nerf, the Demo is at a real disadvantage. Her pylon doesn't puke enough grenades to keep her stocked and if someone else is grabbing the grenades as they pass by, she gets bupkis when she visits the pylon. Plus, rolling out Turians with their boost power, that draws 'nades from the boxes and pylon, the competition has only grown for 'nades.

I've changed my playing style a bit since the nerf. I never camped the pylon, but now I place it in the best possible place for a sniper if we have one or the team in general and get my grenades from the ammo boxes. That leaves the pylon to restock ammo and give a shield boost for those passing through, to include me. Plus redeploy in the hack objective.

I don't use grenades except for very specific purposes like unbubbled Phantoms, taking down boss shields/barriers, aw crap moments, clearing an area where I want to revive a teammate. And when leveling up a character, almost never use grenades until I have enough skill points on them to make them effective, except for those aw crap/revive teammates moments.

Even though I am not drawing a lot of grenades from the boxes or pylons, when I go to every box and pylon and they are all empty, it really gimps the Demo (which gimps the team), now the only thing she can do is gun or melee, since grenades ARE her power. I think folks who play characters that have both grenades and powers would not be too happy if the actions of another teammate could suddenly deprive them of both their grenades and their powers (Volus shield boost bug, anyone?).

So to Demos who don't want anyone to touch their 'nades, a bit less whining, please. To the folks that run around spamming 'nades with 3 skill points applied, either go big or stay home. To the folks that think it is funny to troll a Demo, 'cause that's the way they roll, ummm, the 6th grade called, they want their grade appropriate humor back.

I don't have time for your pylon. You can have those, I'll be marauding almost every other box.

Why are you putting your pylon on an ammo box?

I agree with this guy. If you dont want to share place the pylon near you at all times. SHARING IS CARING!!! ... right? Hooray for team players!!!

You guys realize the Demolisher is an aggressive support class and you're supposed to share your grenades with other people, right? Stop being selfish, stop caring about only your grenades and your DPS, and let others take them. I understand that her other two abilities are grenades, but hasn't it ever occured, that she basically works as a mobile supply point for the team that can buff/restore shields, weapons, powers, and give ammo/grenades?

If you can't handle it, or other people are being selfish to you, play with friends instead or play a different class. This is a Co-Op game about teamwork.

Of course at the same time, I don't know why they gave an support class, TWO grenades as her other powers. If they were going for an offensive character, than they sure did it in the most obtuse way possible.

Demolishers are entitled to every single grenade that comes from their pylon. Every. Single. Grenade.

Now, stop being a bad Demolisher and taking the grenades from the ammo boxes. Those are for everyone else, you jerk.  :wizard: Put your pylon somewhere that I don't have to walk over it to get to an ammo box.

it happens from time to time, and I feel like letting them know that my nades are much better than theirs, but I'll either move off for a quick plant and grab, and then start pylon moving as I go around the map, or I'll just refill with an ammo consumable, kill whatever's around me and run for the nearest box.

If I'm gifting nades I'll plant and roll so that they know that they can come in for some Demo nade lovin.

Share yes, but in a controlled manner.

It is unfair to any player that uses a Demolisher, steal your grenades all the time. It is a matter of common sense, since the only character's powers are grenades and demolisher is almost useless without them.

Irritating, is when you find a player who chooses not to enable the supply pylon, but maximize their own grenades ... and runs through the whole scenario collecting all the grenades all the boxes, compromising the performance of other players.

You know, it's still strange how they design a support character who supplies grenades, but than completely depends on them.

I'll pop my pylon down when we're doing hacks, I'll pop one down next to someone working on a 4-point objective, I'll pop one down if we end up standing in a group at any point due to enemies surrounding us. I do this because I know the pylon gives damage and shield boost. If I am on mic I will tell people they are free to grab ammo and grenades if they come across them next to the pylon. (I don't stay with my pylon. I run around looking for enemies to kill, with my grenades.)

However, you can bet your arse I spam grenades as much as I please, and I will grab grenades from both my pylon and ammo boxes. If you're not faster than me to the grenades at the pylon, you're not getting any. I'll also move it any time I please, with no warning, because I want more grenades where I am. (And I move that baby a lot. I play my Demolisher with as little cooldown as I can get with a decent gun equipped.)

If the Demolisher is a support class I guess am playing her wrong, because I play her to make as many things go boom in as little time as possible. I'll help the team with my pylon, but I'm not going to sit around not throwing grenades because my team might need them. My pylon, my choice whether to share or not. ^^

The answer is simple, stick your pylon in the center of reactor hazard and fry em without reviving them for taking them. Other great trolling places for a pylon are in the glitchy water fall on hydra so only you can get them or even know they are there as well as in the middle of the map so everything can shoot them if they attempt to go for it... around back on white on the main spawn so the spawnpoint gaurds it for you... the spawn point on condor since everyone will be on the top playing king of the hill...

Also, always carry a scoprion so you can shoot exploding bolts at their feet the entire wave making the screen shake and it extra annoying for them. Or, kite a banshee over to them and let her sync kill them. Rocketing a poss abom near them also sends a clear message that you did it on purpose.

Other possibilites include grabbing the pizza and not moving, telling them you will not deliver the goods until they give you back your grenade... standing in their line of shight while they are shooting at things... or using all your grenades and also doing nothing but running the map for for grenades so they can't get any either.

I play a demo-girl all the time, and I make sure to place mah pylon OUT OF THE WAY, and yet people still try running for my pylon when there is an ammo box 2 feet away from them. When I play mah demo-girl, My pylon is MINE and the other ammo boxes are yours. I don't care what other classes are being played, just leave my pylon alone, and I'll gladly help the team.

I normally help with all the objectives, but steal my nades and I can leave you in the cold.

lol, she is not a support character - I think that is the point that you are not seeing.   But like I posted earlier, her ability to stick with only her grenades has been taken away because you can no longer camp anywhere.   Bioware must really not like this character, because she was best used when you could camp in basically one area ( I could basically go the entire match { outside of objective waves } in one area and get all the grenades from the pylon )- then they added Dragoons to Cerberus and bombers to Geth, then for good measure they nerfed the pylon power.

Basically, this. The demolisher's power was that she could be stationary, and defend a spot really well with the shields from the pylon and the power of her grenades. Nerfing her ability to stay stationary with rushing units + grenade cooldown increase has made her like most other grenade kits, an ammo-crate defiler.

The only power the demolisher HAS is grenades. As someone who loves grenades, when not playing the demolisher I always make it a point to not steal from their pylon. Exceptions if they aren't doing much DPS or if they're dead and I'm clutching a wave.

Was doing a game on Hydra yesterday, playing with a Demolisher who placed a pylon right beside an ammo crate.

Said Demolisher who then proceeded to not move his/her ass away from it the entire match.

As the only other grenade user on the team, it was irritating to say the least.

Why would anybody want to stay in one spot for an entire match?  FBW camping and Rio camping are boring and/or pathetic.  Otherwise her pylon cooldown is anywhere from 12-30 seconds, which is plenty of time to hold a defensive position before moving to a new spot and dropping a new pylon.  If you're not doing that, you're missing out on a third of her possible grenade output.

2.) Plant Pylon in enemy spawn point.
3.) Watch morons rage melee you for doing so or proceed to camp on it.

I only find this annoying when a player NEVER goes to the ammo boxes for grenades and continually uses your supply pylon to replenish their stock.

I dont mind the occasional taking of them (especially if I place it somewhere that is difficult to avoid), but when someone consistently uses your supply pylon (meaning the only time you can get any is when you redeploy), it gets to be quite annoying.

Unfortunately I dont think we'll ever solve the "Supply Pylon Ethics" issue, and people will be posting threads like this for as long as multiplayer surives.
