It was funny watching the weakling mailman pull it out of his van and walk it up our driveway though.
I didn't pick a case based on whether it would fit on the desk too.

I didn't pick a case based on whether it would fit on the desk too.But damn, I didn't expect it to be that huge. Pics are misleading.
Original plan was to hook it up to my tv and go from there... Then I remembered that it took 6 people to get my entertainment center in and decided just to get my monitor back from my dad. xD
I really only went with this because TigerDirect was doing a free lazer-etching addition for a weekend, and I couldn't resist getting "Akula" put on the side.

Unfortunately some people can't be helped. I have a mahoosive desk but my mouse is set to ultra high dpi for less arm movement and improved accuracy.
Also SS, I'm glad I'm not the only one with a stock intel cooler! I will be upgrading mine when I can be bothered to wrestle with my cable management again.

I'd change it once I dabble in overclocking... and have the funds. But mostly the funds. Yes.
Right after a new monitor. And desk. And.. chair?

Here it is.
No point in taking a picture of the inside of the case since it is just a mess of cables from not having a modular power supply.
Another dual-screener! Huzzah! I don't have a modular PSU, my mate gave me his old PSU when he upgraded to a modular one, but I tucked all of the cables behind the mobo thingy and used *lots* of cable ties! It took ages but it was worth it.
SS: funds are an issue. Though let it be said that I will unthinkingly drop £400 on computer parts (should I ever have such funds) but cannot bear the thought of spending that same amount of money on shoes/clothes like a 'normal' girl. I <3 my PC

Welp, you weren't kidding.

I've probably spent the same amount on shoes/clothes... but over a span of 2 years.
Won't be able to buy as much now though lol

How do you manage to keep your desk this clean??? My always littered with pc stuff, books, misc stuff.
I'm no longer in school so stuff doesn't really pile up anymore. If I were still in school it would have reference books and pages of random calculations all over it plus me passed out around 5 or 6 in the morning.

Dual screening is the only way to go if you do any coding or data analysis. Having that much screen space is really nice when you are using multiple things as refrences at once.
I tried to have good cable management for a while but my case and components don't make it easy plus I have to dust it out at least once a month.
I hear you on funds being an issue. All my components are almost 3 years old now (except my ram which went bad a few months back and had to be replaced) and I would like to upgrade or build a completely new rig but that is going to have to wait until I have some disposable income.

It can be set to anywhere between 200 and 5700 dpi but I use 800 dpi for most stuff. The main reason I have such a large mouse pad is that I find it nice for when I am doing CAD/CAM work. When I'm gaming I only use maybe a third of it.

I built my new one as I kept having hard graphics crashes while playing ME3MP!! So it was essential that I upgrade, and I just about managed it with some help from my friends. I agree re dual screening, it helps so much if you have to work across several windows, data is my life! Pictures of my desk when I was writing my PhD thesis were extremely messy.
A clean desk improves my gaming experience.

So sorry man, that's awful. Even on surge protectors I guess they're not completely proofed against that sort of thing. *manly platonic hug for solidarity in a time of crisis*
