Wrong once more.

I get shot in cutscenes. I get shot all the time in campaign, but I don't go down, because I time it correctly.

It's all luck.

Well that's the point of the Operation right? Getting downed so that people can rez you and vice versa.

That's the point of the op, not the point of my statement.

You are making the incorrect assumption that injuries and deaths are based on a skillset or a specific trait on players.

I am counterpointing that it is merely luck. Even the best player gets tagged from time to time. Even on Bronze, or Silver. A lot on Gold and Platinum (One time I played platinum, I am certain that they got a revive medal just off me. Why? Because I was always just an inch in the wrong way. I'm not a bad player, but I ain't the best. I'm just unlucky.)

If you're skilled enough and are not lagging, you can get through a whole match without dying once. That's just using game mechanics to your advantage so you don't get tagged, as you say.

Obviously, even the best will get tagged from time to time, but it's because they made a mistake ( or are lagging)

Public games on a vorcha engineer versus geth.

"Oh, so you think you dodged that rocket huh? Well, excuse me whilst I teleport you back round the corner and show 3 rockets smacking into your corpse."

I don't get my own character teleporting too often, but I get a lot of teleporting enemies.

How many times have you made a mistake?
How many times have you sat there wondering, as a teammate revived you, JUST what mistake that was? Where it occurred?

Luck, as defined is 'success or failure brought about by chance rather than one's own actions'. Like how a Turian Havoc (me) can be carrying an objective with teammates covering me at all angles, and one Phantom pops out and pops my face in.

Skill issue? No. I unloaded rounds into her until I fell over. My teammates were covering my every movement in every direction they could.

Rotten luck? Very. +1 revive for my pals.

Yeah, and add that in to the fact they can refire those freaking launchers faster than the Mattock?

No crap, when I first started playing, I was wondering where the Geth got M202 FLASH launchers.

Note the M202 FLASH is a quad-tube rocket launcher. I was stating this because they seemed very able to pop off four HE rockets in the time it took me to dodge one.

I would love to know how you can have 360 degree awareness around your character to avoid getting tagged.
One grenade takes out your shields, add a few lucky shots and you're on the ground.  Half of everything is skill... the other half is luck.  It's not always a mistake, sometimes you just can't beat the odds.

Umm...

Luck has very little to do with deaths in this game. Unless you're lagging badly.

In this game, getting downed has 3 causes.

1)Lag
2)Bug/Glitch (Spawn points being effed up, Sync Kills through walls, etc..) [Stunlock is included in bug/glitch]
3)Player mistake.

While I complain about the 2 first reasons a lot, Player error makes up for the majority of deaths.

I love all these people that like to pretend that nothing bad ever happens, everything goes completely according to plan, and that they only play on bronze where there's nothing that can hurt them.

Its just 5 revives. not that big of an issue. Between 4 random people on a gold or platinum, odds are, you'll get to do at LEAST 5 revives.

Unfortunately, your statement is incorrect once more.

However, given your position, and the group in your signature, it would appear that you believe yourself to be one of the unstoppable gods of gaming, who the slightest hint of mortality is to be scoffed at, so I will just say;

'All hail the great, powerful, and wise douchenozzle who never falls, never fails, and never wants. He alone is worthy.'

For the rest of us, we'll just have to settle for luck not steering that random missile directly into our rear-ends.

I wash my hands of this, and attempt to get some actual sleep, because I go on shift for this weekend in about 15 ish hours.

Yeah, obviously, I'm an elitist DB.

I'm not the one who's being an as.shole.

I don't consider myself superior to others. When I get downed, it's most of the time because I made a mistake. I blame myself for making a mistake, I don't blame luck. This game is PvE. It's versus AI. AI is predictable.

It's also sometimes due to BS lag death and glitchy game mechanics, granted. **** happens.

I think it will be fun, specially in high difficulties, because we will need people to die and someone to stay alive, so staying alive to revive can be a challenge.

I always Revive others. No matter how impossible the Revive may be. That's what being a team player is all about.

Jay we both know that you and I are no better at this game than anyone else. The fact that we die less often and kill things faster is just down to luck.

It's just a game, there's no such thing as being good at a game. It's all luck. That's why you always kill me in CSS, because you're luckier than I am.

3 team-mates in the reactor and 2 team-mates near a possessed abomination should do it.

no I don't. People wanted the challenges to be harder, so they kinda made it more difficult, because chances are you'll have to play with some terrible people, grind it, or play on higher difficulties.

If you PUG platinum you'll get it easily (if you don't wipe first), you could probably PUG gold too. Just take some friends into the next higher difficulty than what they're used to. They'll die a lot, you get your medal. Then just die purposely for them in return.

Playing with pugs, I don't think there's ever a game that I play in which I don't get the 5 revive medal. You people must play with a higher tier of players, it seems.

I am actually considering taking some super weak character and die on purpose the whole time, so others can revive like crazy.
Am I weird?
