Seems kids these days all make movie trailers. Youtube is full of them. Many are disliked and horrible. In response I have attemped to create a trailer that recieves the polish fans deserve, and delivers that which the games will never capture:

The essence of the Mass Effect Trilogy as a feature film, with characters we know and love. I tried to cater for as many audiences as possible with the tools that I had.

For those interested in the process, and to assure everyone else of the love and care I put into this production:

I treated the assets from my recordings as canon for the purpose of telling a story everyone can relate to. In this parallel universe there are no choices and the games were never made. The story was written for an original film, with sheploo starring, and everything that happened in my shepard's story arc is true.

This allowed me the freedom to make a trailer that isn't burdened with alternate possibilites of characters being dead, paragon and renegade actions differing, shep with multiple personality disorder, etc.

I then proceeded to create the story from plot points strewn throughout the ME trilogy and supported by its universal lore. I mapped what I needed to this structure:

Stasis, Trigger, The Quest, Surprise, Critical Choice, Climax, Reversal and Resolution (Hale, A. 2008, How to Structure A Story, http://www.dailywrit...ight-point-arc/)

and what you see now is the result: Click on the pic to go to youtube and watch it

Also, if you see something you don't like, please tell me so I can fix it in future videos. I love Mass Effect and it is highly likely I will make another one. Can't help myself haha

VERY nicely done.  I posted on the vid, but Anne Bryce needs a bit more volume.  Other than that, spot on with your cuts and music syncs.

Cheers MrStoob! I had a bunch of problems with the audio, especially the music. Thanks for spotting that :) I'll try my best to get it right next time, glad you enjoyed it.  super happy now, thanks!

I read some of your fan-fiction from your sig (I assume it's yours anyway, read all of Blue: The Damned, and about half of Out of the Blue). I liked exploring parts of the characters that weren't explained in the games. I was really curious, after reading a paragraph I got hooked haha. Nicely done.

Nicely done, had a bit of a glitch during the Yawg fight and Anne Bryce part is a little soft... other then that you caught the story well

Cheers, I like to try and write about the bits you don't see.  The Damned is a continuation of Blue, so if you do read Blue, you've just spoilered yourself a bit hehe.

Some of the voice is too quiet compared to the music. maybe some variation in loudness of music, give it some dynamic. But regardless of quality, i applaud the effort, and it's good if only because it's HD

on that note, you should have used some of those HD mods that are floating around when making these. then it'll be spectacular.

Yes, the music jumps forward about a second. Originally there was a gap of silence showing shepard winding up for the big punch, but after showing someone else they said it didn't work.

Didn't really handle it too well, but at least it shows that you have a good eye for this sort of thing! Pro editor material

Damn your soft voice over Anne Bryce's Voice Actor! It was the same volume as the rest I swear haha.
Thanks for the tips

Damn it! haha, got too eager. The funny part is, why the hell did I read your sig from right to left? I'm Australian. Clearly school is to blame ;) I'm gonna read the rest any way

Ah! Good suggestion with the HD mods, facedesk moment for me (I've been wondering why certain other vids seem to look crisper and more detailed). I've never been good with mods, but from what I see here on BSN there's plenty of help for it.

Thanks for noticing that it was 1080p, it took a loong time to upload to youtube. Worth it!
