Does a Mass Effect TV series have to follow the story of the games? Sure, I'd love to watch it. But I would be perfectly fine if they created a TV series (or movie) set in the Mass Effect universe, but was about other characters and other events.

That's how I feel about it, or it could take place along side the plots of the games and focus on other characters. There is a lot to explore that it doesn't have to be based exclusively on the events in the games

Ignore the Reaper threat entirely The whole main plot line in 3 was garbage. And Omega is the perfect setting it got what most Starz and HBO original series all roll up in one package.

I would love a Mass Effect TV series on HBO. However, being on a high cable network there would be some tradeoffs, one being maybe budget, and another being restricted to only around 10 episodes, but if Mass Effect even came to tv, I would only want it on HBO or Showtime. Also would budget really be a problem? I mean look at all of the production value on Game of Thrones. Some of those sets and props are incredible! I am sure that they could make it work.

I'm sure they can find a way to make it happen. But it will cost to give screentime to other species then humans. Ok, the Quarians and certainly the Asari is manageble. But species such as Turian, Krogan, Salarian will require either lots of CGI, or prosthetics with makeup. Or a combination of both. Either way it will be costly and time consuming.

which is why a movie is much more plausible Image IPB, and don't even get me started on the possibility of the writers going on strike halfway through writing the season, like they did with Terminator.

Shawn Michaels: who writes this crap??
Triple H: noone, they're all on strike

LMAO!!

Yeah, a movie is probably much more plausible. But in a perfect world Mass Effect would be turned in to a high budget TV series Image IPB
