I got my revival medal from the first Gold match I played last night. This ended up being a fun and an exciting challenge. I had to run in the middle of two atlases and phantoms to get my fifth revival at wave 10. Ended up dying but it was totally worth it!

Well, my answer is.
Against smaller stuff/boss shields and barrier, I'd rather use overload as a primer/detonator, CC tool and shield-killer.
Warp exists only to debuff, and the only enemies worth debuffing are bosses, as everything else dies fairly quickly anyway.
Out of the bosses, two of them have their nope-bubble - Banshees and Praetorians which make projectile powers virtually useless against them, though praetorians can nope through overload aswell.
This means that speccing into warp lets me take out Atlas Mechs and Primes faster, while making me significantly more squishy. Not a worthy tradeoff for me.
I also know that Warp lets me use warp ammo's damage boost and the incendiary exploit, but meh.
Ravagers, Brutes, Scions die faster as well. Banshees can put up the bubble only when in secondary mode - and you can easily time the warp right when she is throwing her warp bubble so that she cannot stop it. Praetorians can only put the bubble when floating, and they don't float very much.
You can play as you like, but your argument isn't that strong in my eyes
Plus, you don't necessarily have to give up fitness to get warp

Go into Bronze PUGs with full damage (aka squishy) GI build. Announce "Ima gonna die a lots k? You revive me for dem medals, thank me later!". The try to get killed. And try ... and try ... and try ... and you just won't die because no one is waiting for those **** enemies to finally get a hold of themselves to kill you when you're right in their faces doing nothing!!!
Really, dying on Bronze is way harder than I imagined.

36665 is my build. Warp is too useful to sacrifice. Plus it means you can fit in well on any team...biotic or tech. Plus warp debuffs stack from different players.

Well, I run 44666 on him and I like it quite a lot. But he's so versatile that you can build him in any way you want, really. Warp is too good to pass up in my opinion, though.
I'll accept the complains if you don't like it, yeah!

Really not hard to get 5 revives. One PUG and you're done. Any map will do really.
For me it was simply Jade/Geth/Gold with Krosoldier. 10+ revives.

I just tried my vorcha soldier for the heck of it, because the soldier is the only class I haven't even touched apart from a match or two as the N7 I finally unlocked, and while I died and I ressed the others, I didn't get my five revives and none of my party members got a revive medal either.
Sure, you have many more banshees in gold than you do on bronze, and that makes getting slaughtered easier, but I don't feel comfortable about waltzing into Gold when I can't solo a bronze match. Least of all with the intend to survive and resurrect the others.

We did Dagger/Reaper/Gold. No one was dying so my buddy died a few times when a wave was almost done so i'd get my medal (he already had his).

I just searched for gold/collectors and gold/geth games until I found a lobby full of Christmas noobs that were barely ready for silver. Eventually go geth/gold/ghost and a lobby of people with no equipment and low level common and uncommon weapons. 5 revives buy the end of the firs wave, and 15 by the end of the wave 3 hack circle where I was helped greatly by a few cloaked hunters
