If you're playing the console version of Dragon Age you're doing it wrong.

Nothing is perfect, but I do look forward to the new DLC and expansion. It's a good thing that they polish things first before releasing them. A delay is better than a patch later on. And about the price... 5 dollar seems fair. I can hardly buy 2 beers for that and those won't really be replayable. ;)

Word! Most the time even less than two hours LOL.

All the DLC is worth the $5 it may be short but as others have said its worth it. I have never bought a Bioware game that i didn't like or that was bugged to game breaking. Yes DAO has a memory leak but its not game breaking. can be frustrating but all it takes is a save and a reload of the game. My only argument with DAO is that they went overboard with the blood splatter on your toon. LOL. Anyways Bioware has once again outdone themselves. Can't wait for the Ex. and Mass Effect 2. And I am having MMO withdraw waiting on SWTOR.

Troll. Why do people who don't like the dlc system feel compelled to try and ruin it for the rest of us? You paid $40 odd for one of the best games ever made, I don't see what you've got to complain about. If you don't want to continue the game with dlc then just don't buy them. What are you trying to gain by whining? Would you be happy if you and your kind finally influenced Bioware into adandoning the dlc plan, so you could sit back all smug while everyone else is deprived of what they want?

Nah, it's not worth it. I'm too tired of Bioware's shenanigans to give them any more of my money.

Warden's Keep probably wasn't worth it either, but at least it gives us sweet dragonbone armor that isn't pink/purple.

Best game I've played in a very long time. I'll buy any DLC or expansion they release.

I play on a PC, so that's not an issue for me. I have no problem with both DLC and an expansion being announced. The DLC involved the first party, Awakening, a new party. They complement each other rather than compete. Given that I'm a little sad that I probably won't be able to bring the player I prefer in the expansion, I'm very glad to get the DLC. I'm also very glad that Return to Ostagar deals with something with character repercussions that the first two didn't. All in all, I'm very much looking forward to more DLC and the expansion.

PC is always the best option for massive scope RPGs. Not only do you get a more immersive and customizable experience, but any bugs are so much easier to fix. I will soak up the DLC for this game as long as I can. I spend $5 for a decent coffee, so $5 for some good, story driven content is not going to bother me. If your concern is for the technical aspects of killing enemies in the game rather than the story, you should be playing FPS games.

So they knocked back RtO. They did it so people who complain about cheap DLC will have less to complain about. Bioware puts out RPGs that rival more than half of the movies that come out these days in character driven, immersive storylines. Watch Avatar for two plus hours, great film. Play Dragon Age for two plus DAYS! See the difference?Take a date and buy some popcorn, you're shelling out far more PER HOUR than Bioware asks.

I for one am glad that Bioware is full of sensible business people who realize if you put out buggy DLC the fans are going to hate it and fewer people are going to buy future DLC.

To the thread starter, I empathize with you  regarding the lack of technical support for the console versions.

However, as a PC user, I will buy every DLC and expansion. In fact, I wished they made a cool forum icon for Warden's Keep and RtO.

Games like DA literally come out once every 10 years. The only way to change that is to buy the DLC and expansion so that EA keeps funding Bioware's RPG division.

In 2 years' time, when we add up all the DLC and expansions released, we will get a huge epic journey. Then people will know what they would have missed if there were no DLCs at all.

I'm buying it...all of it. Sorry you picked the PS3 version, but I'm on the PC so I have had zero problems. Anyway, RtO got pulled last-minute, so eh. Hypothetically, it would have been out by now if things had gone ideally. I'm forgiving of such issues though, but that's just me.

Its really debatable, I like and dislike Dragon Age at the same time. The dialogue / lore and interaction with characters is heavy in this game but the gameplay just lacks. To me this game is a book, and not a game because the game play offered is really nothing new and has tons of bugs / developers being lazy and not polishing. Sure, when its modded on PC its a lot better but at the same time I think "Why couldn't the developers do this to begin with and then some?" I will say this over and over. This game had a lot of potential, like 30% out there but its not one I will look upon in the past and say....man that game was amazing. I can rant about its flaws for about 4 pages but why bother, this is a retail copy and its a finished product.

I love how the undercurrent of thought seems to be that its the OP's own fault because he bought the console version. Its not the company's fault that marketed it and sold it as a console game, but the consumer's fault for being stupid enough to buy it.

No one hates consoles more than me, but to blame the victim is just ignorant. Are you guys fanboys or abused women or what?

Now now, nothing wrong with getting the console versions.  I would have loved to get the PC version, but unfortunately my PC wouldn't be able to handle it and buying a new one right now isn't feasible.  Some of us aren't willing to wait until we can afford a new PC to play this amazing game.  :) We just play it a bit more like KotOR rather than Baldur's Gate.

Soon as I can get a new PC, though... definitely getting the PC version.

Pathenry almost every poster on this forum is a loyal customer. I have been since Baldur's Gate but very little change other then graphics from BG to NWN to Dragon Age. And you are absolutely correct. sir. People should be blaming the company rather then the customer.

A very interesting gaming phenomena that I've noticed.

"Consols are like.. SO superior! PC's are for grampas.. consols are the future."

Then, a month after game release..

"They don't support consols. How come I can't get modding or downloadable content. This company sucks."

----

I'm not even talking about it on this thread, but I saw it with Fallout 3, Dragon Age, and many others (largely moddable RPGs). PCs are still the future.. they are robust engines that outshine consoles every time.

I understand that consols are convenient... but they remain largely irrellevant (to me). Mass Effect was on console.. now it's on PC.. same with Jade Empire and a million other games. The PC simply gobbles up anything in its path..

I don't "blame" anyone.. (and I don't think anyone here is a victim. Perspective is important).. but I will say.. that PCs have always been superior.. and always will be.

I don't buy a horse and complain that it cannot go as fast as a car.

----

In due time, I will be purchasing all DL content. I am actually waiting on my second playthrough for the exansion. A trend in modern gaming (on PCs) is to buy the game later.. play it a year after release.. buy the "Gold" edition.. and the bugs are removed, the game is beefier.. *shrugs*

ok what is wrong with the PS3 version? i havent had any problems with it, sure there are a few glitches that i had but it was onl once, i have had really no problems with my game so, i was thinking about getting it on PC but my PC is almost dead sot hat wouldbt be a good idea, PS3 owners are supposed to be getting an update sooner rather than later but that might not happen until RTO comes out. te onlydif i think between the PS3 and PC versions is the look (graphics), camera control, and that pause and play thing wich you can do sort of on the PS3. i may still get it for PC but who knows. so stop hating yu haters lol
