I started a new game of DAO and was owning it up at normal difficulty, so I decided to switch to hard for awhile. Well, then I got pwned some and decided to switch back to normal because thinking isn't my strong suit. The game continued cleaning the floor with me.
Having already beaten it twice on normal, I'm pretty sure it was still behaving as if it was on hard mode, but I unfortunately didn't check to see if my party was taking AoE damage. (I was using a 2Her and had no AoE on my friends, Morrigan was in support mode, Alistair and my Dog were pretty much single target). I switched it to casual for about thirty minutes, wherein everything died when I breathed on it, and then back to normal, with the same party, where it played at the level of challenge I'm accustomed to from previous playthroughs.
I don't think my level of skill (or lack thereof) varied wildly over the course of two hours. Any known glitches like this?
Difficulty levels glitch?

Yeah, this is old news but yes, 360 Hard is like Gears of War Insane. Still playing through first game on Hardcore. It is doable, but without co-op sucks one. First time playing through it and I chose to go Hardcore, (don't have 3 play throughs in me). Second time I play through I will play through Insane with a friend.

Agh... Played through Gears 2 on Insane recently, it was like slowly grinding my genitals away with sandpaper. Still, achievements don't lie
Currently tying myself to a post at the other end of the room so I don't dry-hump Zev to boost my Gamerscore.
Yeah, difficulty spikes are annoying, whatever game it is. More so if the game insists you're playing on a higher diff. Try toning down to easy, if it's not too humbling an experience.
