Wait!  He pulled a Cullen????

It was probably the funniest moment in the game for me. Actually, I exaggerate a bit, but he's like, "Wow, is that me blushing?  Yes it it!"  Or something like that.  But definitely not a Cullen.

Oh, darn, cause I'd have to try that one just to see that reaction.

He is completely embarrassed.  It really is funny.  You can dump him afterwards as well, it doesn't break the engagement.  However, the ending is seriously better if Alistair has never loved the PC.  Well, if you want hearts and flowers, I suppose the "in love," or "still in love" Ali ending is fine, but if you want to be seen as a strong, popular ruler, don't ever tell Ali he's handsome or special.  And tell him to keep his lines to himself!

I changed him to darker hair (long with the braid) and tattoo too, and he's soo much sexier! I'm trying to find a link to the mod, now I can't seem to find it :( It was called "Project Beauty - Dragon Age V. 4.3" and you had a choice of I think 4-6 zevs in addition to all your other travelling companions :-)

Anyway, for some strange reason, Zev went from "Adore" to "love" after I got -5 disapproval when I let Vaughn go free. In retrospect, I should have killed the bastard, but my PC elf (mage) didn't know the history, and all she knew was she needed him for Landsmeet. not complaining though :-), because then I got this whole new dialogue I missed the first time - yes girls and boys, the "L" word chat! ahhh I am hopelessly hooked on Zevran!

Did you get the proposal?  Wow, if you didn't, it's worth reloading for (and ask if you need to know how to get that)!  Odd that it changed at that point -- it should have changed earlier.  Gah, this game is buggy.

Edit: I'm using project beauty 4.8, Zevran version ummmm, 7 I think.  Wow, is he beautiful in that.

Hmmm...no real "proposal" but I got a lot of dialogue, will have to go back and reread it - I think there was something about the future...  Tell me how you got the proposal - I don't remember being asked anything about the rest of my life :-)

YES! I am using project beauty too!  I'm using Zevran version 5 Posted Image the long brown hair, the tattoo on his forehead ohh la la! Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

He doesn't exactly propose, but it's clear. If you turned down the earring the first time,AND if you choose either "I'm no wiser than you in that area," or "Perhaps it would be better for you if we broke up," when he has the talk about his feelings, you get some interesting dialog.

Aw, you guys are really making me want to do a Zevran playthrough. My characters tend to be noble, straight-up types and thus far even the mage I created with Zev in mind ended up choosing Alistair. Just couldn't logically get her around to choosing the assassin who tried to kill her over her fellow Grey Warden.

However, my current city elf female might be the one. She's hung up on Nelaros so will probably be un-romanceable for a while. It helps that I imagined, when she first met Alistair, that she was having Vaughan flashbacks. The resemblance was close enough, and she had convinced her father to let Nessa stay with him by saying "just think of what those humans will do to her" and now here she is in Ostagar herself. It was kind of funny approaching Alistair that way. He's happily chattering and meanwhile...

"...the Chantry raised me..."

"Bastard."

"...being a templar was a choice made for me..."

"Pervert."

"...Duncan was the first one who cared what I wanted..."

"One wrong move and you get a dagger in the ear."

Right after that, she goes to Duncan and is told she is being sent with three human men alone into the Wilds... LOL Oh, I love the dimensions of this game.

Do eeeet! Just remember that Ali will either dump her or expect her to be his piece on the side. And either way, this decision will be made in front of a room full of people. Just before you leave for battle.  The romance with Zevran may not deepen until later, it gets far more intense than even the beginning with Ali (which is where he's at his best).

Edit: If you need a logical, in game reason, here's one.  If you've been flirting with Ali a bit, so he's interested, and you get Zevran in the party before Alistair feels like gossiping, when he asks about Zevran you can tell him, "Yes I trust him." When Ali asks why, tell him, "We have a connection."  Ali answers, "Yes, I can see that."  See, you and the elf assassin have chemistry!  Helps when you learn more later about his real reasons for accepting the mission, but he has to trust you a lot to tell you that.  Fortunately, all it really takes to gain his trust is to be decent to him.  His stories are not the boasting they seem to be on the surface.

I've yet to get the 'I am yours' from Zev. You guys are making me want to try it out though. :)

I've gotten two disapprovals from Zev in the same way, cutie... both times. One when I told Al I chose him and one when I actually told Zev. And I've gotten it a third time in another conversation with Zev and could have gotten it a 4th time if I didn't reload. LOL

I need to get the PC version of this game. I want a mod that makes Zev somewhat physically appealing to me too!

if zevran had been darker, taller, and not so over tanned, i think the girls would be defecting to him in droves.

He switches from "Your desire is my command," in a seriously steamy tone of voice, though. Funny how we all read things so differently.  To keep it about Zevran, you get to go from, "You call," to, "I am yours."  MUCH sweeter!

most of the lines out of zevran do not appeal to me - even when trying my best to role play along. however, the "Why are we still talking" line before the romance scene was priceless. zevran would be better if he wasn't QUITE so forthcoming about some of his indiscretions. but then, i guess it's part of his charm. (do i really need the full details? really? 'cause i'm willing to ignore them if you can stop TALKING ABOUT THEM.)

Do it. All the cool kids are doing it.

actually, i tend to play noble chars too. i just played a mage with the reasoning that she is all about living free (saved jowan, etc.). with little hope of living a normal life with a husband and all, she'd taken a more free view of relationships - and so zevran made a reasonable choice. also, alistair as a grey warden always felt a little like fraternization in the ranks - mebbe not a good idea (but again, i broke that rule for kaiden...ah, kaiden...)

anyhow, ta da! justified romancing zevran and yet the character is still good (Chaotic good, but hey)

Only 18 more days to see what ever became of him!! I loved seeing that big dumb grin on his face WHEN I EMERGED VICTORIOUS!

Sorry, back to your regularly scheduled thread.

Well, I really think it could work with my city elf.  She understands the necessity of survival, and after some initial repulsion and mistrust I think she'll come around to seeing that when Zevran first gets the chance to really choose for himself, he fights against the Blight.  Maybe not in the same "duty calls" way as a warden, but still.  The problem is that I just have such an allergy to making Alistair unhappy.  It's a sickness!

Then don't romance Ali at all. He's fine with being your best buddy.

If you want more incentive to defect, click here

I'm kind of used to Zevran as he is, and that model looks too young to me.  I'll use it at some point, just right now if I replaced any of the party members I'd think, "Who are you?  I don't know you!"

There are a few Zevran face mods here as well: social.bioware.com/project/1205/  .  I like version 7 with the original tattoo a lot, but I do switch him up occasionally!

I just got Zevran in the party, yay! My city elf totally (secretly, while still mourning her dead betrothed) digs him. Guess I romanced Alistair with enough characters that I've got it out of my system. Thanks for the inspiration to give Zevran a whirl, this should be fun.

Progress report. :) Zevran is now at 100 approval but still "Adore." So, if I read this thread correctly, that switches to Love after the whole Taliesin bit?

This has been fun- the romance with Zevran is definitely complicated but also quite sweet and romantic. Also, having him in my party all the time has opened new dialogue and approval bits I didn't know were there. Like I was surprised that he gave a +4 for rejecting the demon's offer to deal in Warden's Keep. Usually Zevran isn't that opinionated but apparently doesn't like demons. (Very junior high of me, but I was sooo pleased at the surprise bump. Yay, Zevran approves!!! LOL Then again, it's always good to see a companion give a thumbs up. Leave all the decisions and dirty work to me, nice to get a little friggin support once in a while...!)

Curious, I don't have this DLC.  Does the alternative to this have adverse affects on someone's liberty?  In the case of Kitty he doesn't like it if you give her the girl, I always figured that was because he doesn't like slavery and servitude.

No, actually it isn't readily apparent that there's any down side other than on principle letting a demon go free.  The demon has possessed the warden commander's body, but she's been dead for hundreds of years so it's not like an enslavement thing.  Hence why I also found it curious that Zevran had a strong opinion.  When you first ask about the deal, he says "Making deals with demons?  The Wardens are more cunning and ruthless than I had imagined."

For Stone Prisoner, I don't think I got a + from Zevran for refusing to let the demon take the girl.  Did get a + from Wynne and Alistair.

You get something like +4 if you lie to the demon and then betray her.  Maybe he just likes you being sneaky.

He does.  In warden's keep, you can get + approval from him if you say you'll deal with Sophia IF you don't have Sten or Shale in your party and he gets a chance to talk.

I found something kind of interesting, back on the adore to love thing.  I'm trying an elf mage, and found that in order to change the adore to love before the Taliesin encounter (and yes, I know it's still adore, but it's fun to have it say love), you have to choose different dialog than you do for a human or dwarf.  If you ask him if it's all part of his plan, he is much more disapproving and it won't switch.  However, if you skip that part and just ask him what it means, it will switch if you ask him about love.

I find it extremely interesting that his reactions are different depending on the race of your character.  It's like he's expecting a lot less trust from human and dwarves than he is from elves.
