The most woman-hating line in the game...

Heck there is slavery in the game. This is a dark game.
One thing I admit is my favorite dwarf Oghren uses a lot of negative slang for lesbians. He is obviously bitter abour Branka.

I find it a little bit ironic that this post's attracted two people from BW. Damn straight, Callie, you're now famous.
Well, now that the OP (not that she necessarily deserves it, I'm not going to go postal on other people because of their opinions) has been beaten into submission by the collectve community, we can all laugh like idiots, and be happyI'm already famous on the internet. I even have a pin that says so.
Don't worry, though. I just couldn't find an internet bingo card for sexism so I've got to make one from scratch to play along at home.
Lol, nice to know that we're all laughing now. Still, yeah, this post gets new replies every 30-odd seconds. Good work XD
Ha, I was laughing from the beginning. I'm an IRC vetran. I did make a blog post marveling that one of the few times I was mildly sarcastic and not out actively trolling people were so eager to come talk about how not sexist they are and derail that it's rocketed to six pages.
eta: Seven pages!

Sounds good to me. But you'd need a chafed tongue injury
*feels sad, has no life*
That's why you keep injury kits lmao:D
But bandaging a damaged tongue would severely limit your ability to lick lampposts
It does help with the whole sticking issue though. Still, I'm taking you up on that offer. Three Suspicious Contraceptives of Wrath for two lampposts.
EDIT: Dammit, sorry for the repost, I managed to quote myself instead of editing the last one...

Get it? lol. Women's sex organs smell like fish. Or dead animals. Or something gross.
Mmm...smells like misogyny.
I'm pretty sure I'm not being a hardline feminist here saying this line is specifically expressing hatred for women's genitals. It's not like I don't call crap when people say "lolol the penis is so ugly" (especially "lolol the uncircumsized penis is so ugly") and happily support the artists I know actively working to take the perception of obscenity from male nudes in art andthe American media. However, Dragon Age in particular doesn't have a throwaway line (that I know of) describing men's sex organs as an object for disgust.
When Alistair says he has not yet 'licked a lamp post' you have the option of assuming that he doesn't have the correct parts. Or that he's a coward... or that it's 'cute' that he's a virign. There are some lines in the game that makes me scratch my head. Alistair's elf fetish ("Even though I'm not human?" "Especially because of that.") got a 'wait, what?' from me. And there are some awkward phrasings.
However this specifically being misogynistic? Not so much. I admit, my first few playthroughs, I thought the 'what normally goes in there' referred to her pack, but oh well.
I don't know if you noticed this, but this game allows you to be an absolute ass to every single person you meet. In every single way. Playing in jerk-mode can deliver some jaw droppingly cruel or mean lines. You can tell little kids their moms are dead, be racist, be sexist, be murderous, be cruel, and hey! You can be a jerk! That line is being a jerk. It's not mandatory, but it exists if you care to use it.

Haven't heard him say anything bad about lesbians. If you have a male character that's sleeping with Zevran he has some lines that make it sound like he thinks it's strange at best.

I would have loved to ask Alistair why would he want to lick a lamppost in winter ha ha
EDIT:
Or have a retort like "I would have seen you enjoying cherry picking more." or something like that lmao

Only thing that's weird is that most people playing as evil Wardens side with Bhelen... I'd think Harrowmont, with his rigid Caste system (thus encouraging more Nadezda-style beatings by the guards), and ideas on Dwarven trade with the surface (thus slowly strangling Orzammar economically and in terms of resources).
Am I the only one wondering at this?

The hare is in her unmentionables. It's definitely undies.
Some of them are flat out silly too. "Hah! You lose." at Landsmeet is probably one of those things you probably can't help but laugh at in the middle of the melodrama.
I consider most of them to be throwaways...but I'll surely save the game and run through them...and then restore. I can't actually bring myself to say them as a character.
I would have to roll my eyes at myself and say "What are you, twelve?" before some companion said the equivalent.
Alistair doesn't just have an elf fetish, he also has a dwarf fetish.

On the whole DAO has typical Tolkien-derived racism where instead of having a diversity of skin tone you have elves, dwarves and humans. Pretty, fey Caucasians, stocky, burly Caucasians, and more or less average looking Caucasians. Is it unique to DAO? No. Creating a diverse world of different looking white people is stock and trade for European fantasy.
You do know that Tolkien's writings were meant to be a mythology for England, right? I wouldn't expect prehistoric England, myth or otherwise, to be multicultural with various ethnic groups.

I think I was working off the opening line "Look what your fool dog left in my pack. A putrid half eaten hare is not something a woman wants to find in her unmentionables." (going off an admitedly poor memory here) For as filthy a mind as I profess to have, I actually skipped back to the opener when considering that response and took it for a lot more innocent than it was, hehe. As in, she's a witch and bound to have all sorts of nasty potions and ingredients in her pack.
Anyway, I think the OP stated she or he was just stirring the pot for 'teh lulz'. The last, sad retreat of the cornered flame-bait troll.
Over all, while there are a few cringe-worthy lines in the game, some of the writing has been hilarious in a 'I can't believe they said that!' kind of way. I'm female, and a good male friend of mine is playing through as well and we've been trading off some of the lines we've come across since we tend to play such different styles. When people actually talk as much about the dialogue as they do about the freaking awesome shield combat (unabashed sword and board fan here), it says something is being done right.

Total nerd moment: Tolkein's writings were based on some Nordic sagas like "The Saga of the Volsungs" and other writings. He used the basic plot as inspiration and his writing was intended to be a framework so he could make up languages, as he was more interested in making up the languages than he was in the plot.
And there are dark-skinned dwarves, elves, humans and Qunari in the game.
