Oh well, we're not all perfect at seducing female cops and thus avoiding the horrors of minor fines and tickets  :(

Seriously, though, you all want to read that blog. Godly material in there. I recommend "Love Letters from Dick"

Yeah, it never really was much about seducing cops, it was about trying to look helpless to avoid freaking them out.  Like they don't get yelled at enough in a day by law breakers.  It's probably nice to see someone cooperating and feeling upset about breaking the law.

But I discovered that I got much more of the "It's all right ma'am" going on and I thought that was sweet and I liked 'em more.  Even the lady cop was nice to me.

So even though I haven't gotten pulled over in years, it was a nice social experiment that worked out well.  Nobody was an impatient ass.

Sorta like when I was an usher in a theater and I discovered that using different accents got me better tips.  British and French pulled in the best tips.  German and American, not so much.  And Australians tell me that nobody who isn't Australian can do a decent accent, not even Meryl Streep.  So I didn't try that one out of respect.

a) Maybe someone might actually want to roleplay a misogynist?

B) It's only misogynistic if you want it to be. There are plenty of lines about Alistair's hygiene and that doesn't mean it's anti-male to have them in the dialogue. Me, I am not the kind of person who goes around looking for misogyny under every rock. YMMV.

a) is a great idea.  Being able to act out misogynistic and, hey, why not racist fantasies in a video game would certainly invite an unprecedented level of realism into a game.

B) Hmmm, I'll definitely reemmber the "it's only _____ when you want it to be" line for other instances of sexism, racism, ableism, ageism. etc.  Everybody knows women and minorities only need to learn to take a joke and equality will come along naturally.

you're just plain overly sensitive.

Which the OP clearly lacks.

Sorry, but my impression is that this was just meant as an amusing poke at Morrigan -- I didn't even get the impression that the player needs to be serious when he/she says it. If we aren't "equal opportunity" enough to also include disparaging remarks about male genitalia then I guess we'll just have to bear that heavy burden.

Well ... maybe you oughta' fix that in Awakenings then? ;)

The "M" rating doesn't seem to have hurt the sales of DA:O.

Time to push the envelope again!

Ditto.  Enjoy that chip on your shoulder, OP.  If you're worried about institutionalized -ism's, how about that institutionaliized feminism...?  Then again, I am a gender traitor.  LOL

Mmm...smells like misogyny.

And yet a female writer wrote it?

That's more or less irrelevent.  Institutionalized sexism affects both male and female behavior.  If you're suggesting women don't behave in misogynistic ways you have only to look as far as the popularity of, say, tabloid magazines and how women in the American culture have been trained to tear each other down to enhance their own feelings of desirability and self-worth.

Projecting the idea that Morrigan's a **** and her genitals are gross, as the game as a whole allows the player to do with a variety of 'funny' lines, is still objectionable whether the script is written by a man or a woman.

you really need to get over it. it's a game. take the feminism somewhere else. and what is this with everyone having issues with american media, culture, and everything else? it seems like men and america are the source of every problem on the planet the way people talk on here.

Feminism sucks. It forces women to do man´s jobs, to wear man´s clothes, to be like men.... It forbids them to decide how to live their lifes. Mind you, I think women shold be ALLOWED to dress like men or do the same jobs and all... But feminism FORCES them into it. Therefore, it is a form of really heavy sexism itself.

Besides, women are allowed to wear trousers and normal shoes.

Men are usually not allowed, or at least will be laughed about if they do so, to wear high-heels, make-up and a mini-skirt.

I smell sexism there!!!
And it even is in real-life!!
Let´s go and cry!

For the right of man to dress like women!

Men, let´s gather and fight for our rights!

Edit: This forum is sexist. It does not allow me to color ALL my text in pink.
Just because I´m a man:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

Long overdue.

Women and men both get mad at me when I say that if a woman has a right to abort a child, a male should have the right to waive paying support since they get no vote otherwise.

But I'm a radical.   I sorta take equal rights seriously to the point where I make folks mad.

I have equally pissed off men and women.  I'm so proud.

NO, that is NOT feminism. Feminism demands equal rights for men and women, it does NOT force women to do anything. It is only the extremists, who by the way give feminists a bad name and REALLY ****** me off, who think it is wrong for a woman to stay at home if she likes. These people are called MORONS, not feminists. If it weren't for feminism where would we be now? FORCED to sit at home sewing, FORCED to hand over all our possessions to our husbands if we divorced. Ahem. Etc. :)

Whatever, I already use makeup and wear lots of jewelry, women's jeans and coat, and sometimes spend an inordinate amount of time fixing my hair, but that doesn't mean I'm a drag queen or Jeffree Star wannabe.

Right, feminism has done some wonderful things.  The extremists make it ugly and I draw the line when someone doesn't want to be equal, they want to be inherently better.

You know it. I also wrote the line where you get to tell Leliana to shut up and help make dinner that someone declared was cruel.

I just hate myself and all others of my sex. Clearly. I mean, I was talking about it to Mary and she said that she's at a loss to think of a single line I've written that wasn't a deep insult to all women everywhere, ever.

These were 6 lines without any sexism towards women. I´m disappointed. I shall never buy a BioWare Game again unless I´m sure you didn´t work at it, write for it or otherwise contaminated it with your sick lack of sexism.

Sorry, the whole cop seduction thing was my poor attempt at a joke. The Australian accent thing is very true. Assuming you're in the States (Never been there, will go soon. Not sure about coming in with a green passport), it's quite funny that European accents net you better tips. "What's a classy foreign girl like you doing in a place like this?" I joke (badly), naturally. Yeah, if I were a cop, I'd be happy if people didn't act like dicks whenever I decided to hand out a ticket, so it's to be expected. Even so, it's nice to know that the police can treat someone with a decent attitude with civility/politeness where you are.

Lol, cops in Abu Dhabi (north of where I live) released this ad recently, to give the force an approachable image... hilarous XD

She was yelled at and they explained she should not wear skirts but trousers in order to avoid making herself a male sex object.

Yes... like I said, morons :P

Letting men's desire dictate what you wear, even if that means DISallowing skirts in order to AVOID said desire, is pretty unfeminist, I would say.
