@Air Quotes & Sirian. You seem to be missing the point. No, it doesn't do any one thing very well. What it does do though is do many many things all at once.

Perhaps an example will help.. I use it as fully defensive except for the last warp evolution. This give myself and my team a good place to hunker down if need be, tying it with my reave for further damage reduction. When too many enemies start getting close, the bubble will then help offensively as your team backs off. Using the bubble to set up explosions now, Reave to set them off, and firing on them with warp ammo will rip them apart. Now, once those numbers are low, you can go in and clean up what's left with Reave ---> Bubble, taking out slow heavy enemies that would be left over. While getting close, you additionally have 70% damage reduction from Reave + Sphere while also setting off minor explosions constantly AND dealing DOT with both abilities.

No one thing about it does exceptionally well, but it is VERY versatile and does many things, bestowing these boosts to all your allies and to multiple enemies all at once.

You have a bad team if you need to hunker down or back off.

The game has changed with the advent of Dragoons, Bombers, Praetorians, Seekers, Scion grenade spams, power immunity bubbles for bosses and map redesigns. We are not supposed to camp even for a minute.

This game also favors 1 thing and 1 thing only. DPS. So versatile thing no matter how nice on paper thay are always lose to things that are tailor made to deal DPS and maximum rate. It's just how it is.

If DPS is all that matters to you, then the skill is clearly not the one for you. I'm sorry but an ability simply not giving you that bottom line damage you want to be doing is not reason to buff it. Requiring that an ability do DPS while also being as versatile as the ability is just far too much.

As for hunkering down or backing of.. That is NOT camping. That is shooting at an enemy for a while before moving off. If you tell me that running, then stopping to shoot, then running again is camping, I don't think I can take you seriously anymore. Don't believe that's what you meant though.

Also, saying that we are not supposed to be camping even for a minute is just incorrect. Won't get into that further though.

lol.

If you're standing in the
sphere with your enemies (which you imply by saying that you're getting
DR AND setting off BE's/dealing DOT) you aren't going to survive for
very long no matter how much DR you have.

Oh the magic of the bubble.. Big enough to allow for there to be an atlas within it AND cover. Good job assuming and ignoring the point of the post though. The point being that you were missing the point.. :wizard:

50% damage reduction and more radius?

Sound ok?

I don't know how this would work, but it would be great if the Justicar could move with her shield deployed like Samara did in ME2. This would take pizza and escort missions to a new level.

This is exactly what I'm hoping for--that or the ability to anchor it to an ally.  A few of the #s would probably have to be scaled down, but it would be interesting and useful.  The ability to apply the ability's effects into actual situations that you regularly see would be amazing.

Basically - if you want a healer - you take Volus. He can stay near, spam Shield Boost, which has greater range than the bubble, restores shields faster and is mobile. Especially the Vanguard.

If you want offense and you have a good primer/detonater team with ammo powers - Reave is all you need. It both primes and detonates from range and gives DR and DOT.

And if you take the Acolyte...

The bubble has become redundant. It's okay, but not good enough to spend 21 points and skip fitness or passive evo's.

Still ignoring that she can do both. Bubble for defense and a little offense while also having that reave. Not as good a healer as a Volus and not as good an offense as a Drell, but good at both none the less. If you don't think it's worth it, fine, don't take it. I find it fine and even good at what it does while being fun to use. I have explained why and if you don't like it, fine. Go ahead and ignore it all. Ignoring it's strengths or claiming it's bad at getting the bottom line of DPS is not going to convince Bioware to buff it though.

No other biotic ability also bestows all of it's bonuses to every single ally on your team and can prime several biotic explosions all at once with a single cast. Only one other one gives damage reduction as well, but not to all team mates as well as the possibility of increased shield regen among other things.

Also, no other biotic ability gets it's priming and detonating ability from a single evolution. They either start with it or they don't have it. It's fair that since a single evolution gives access to that that it also only give one ranks worth of detonating capability.

As to your first point, the Bubble usually doesn't do that.  In most matches, it can't.  'cause mobility.

As to your second point, is that a plus in your book?  Because what you just described as a pro (the ability to get a rank 1 primer/detonator with a rank 6 evolution) seems like a pretty big con in my book considering most Biotic abilities get for free and better what the Justicar has to spend a valuable evolution to get by on.

Bubble is a unique ability, I'll give you that.  But not in a way that's good and meaningful.  It's a party trick.  With regards to action-economy, benefits with points spent, and risk-reward, the Justicar is objectively worse than most of her counterparts.  Inarguably.  Because of Bubble's limitations.  You can talk scenarios all you want, but once we get to usability and bang for the buck compared to peers, it's indefensible.

Did not say it was a plus, I said it was fair because of the way it was built. Started out as a clear cut defensive ability but could weld on some offensive capabilities. One can't expect something made for defense to be a great offense.

You don't even need to explain your opinion. I KNOW the pros and cons of the bubble. And the cons outweights the pros.

Alright then. Apparently you don't even need to make a thread about it because it's so obvious. I expect this buff soon, otherwise, what you know is wrong.

The buff may not be quick, but it SHOULD come.

We know for example that the Revenant is decent. But it could be much better. Doesn't mean Bioware is going to buff it right away.

Just a thought but what if when speccing for defensive bubble, an evo gave it a health limit similar to the Paladin's shield but allowed it to block certain projectiles?

Woudn't really make sense, because you can walk in it. It's not solid and you already get DR from it.

Majority of the changes suggested here would require a patch, i.e. will never happen.

BE power, DR or Radius could easily be buffed via balance changes.

DR and radius - yes, but BE power for just the bubble? It has no such evo, only if buffing BEs overall... I think.

BTW I've just been enlightened with the best ever idea about the bubble. Unless someone already suggested it.

I guess everyone who said that the Bubbles bad hasn't played the mini game with it? I'll explain, you take a Krogan lol and put him in the bubble. He's not allowed to leave the Bubble but he can shoot stuff outside the Bubble.

Me and a friend of mine have done this, he used a Krogan Sent. He would pace the edge of the Bubble like a rabid animal daring anything to come inside. Every so often I'd hear him yell out PLAYTHING! Then a second or two later in a very sad voice he'd say "aw it died". A few seconds later "NEW PLAYTHING!"

But the point is a defensive Bubble paired with a Tank almost makes it indestructable. He was hit by an Atlas rocket and it only took 1 1/2 bars worth of health from his shields. Hell he giggled when Phantoms shot him. For more fun next match we threw in a Geth E defensive turret in there with him.

It's not as efficient as it perhaps should be, but it's fun. Four asaris is a fun team, one of them should have the bubble for choke point auto-warp.

But sure, a be buff or dr buff would be very welcome.

Make it mobile, moving with the character like AF. This would require a patch and a lot of bubble's DR nerfing.

But would still be awesome. Maybe even too awesome :wizard:

Give him a volus too and this will be the most boring box of shame outside Rio.

Fast closing insta-kill enemies. No bubble will protect you from those. And keeping the bubble in place for your team is a pain in the ass, when you could be Reaving instead.

Boring? Not at all he held 90% of everything's attention allowing the rest of us to do objectives or flank their positions. Not to mention it was funny watching play king of the hill with 3 Dragoons.

Na, he was using a GPS so Phantoms never got close, and the rest of us ganged up on Atlas's while he distracted them. Plus haven't you noticed most enemies aren't in a big hurry to get in melee range of a Krogan? Hell even Phantoms take their time.

Banshees, Praetorians. Run Krogan run, because this bubble won't save you.
