Today, EA custommer support has answered my question. My question was:

Hello, I need help!

I bought the game more than one month ago and I verified the game with the code, etc, etc. I have played and finished the game once, playing with Shale (downloadable content). Today an error crash message saying that DAUpdaterSVC.Service.exe can't start, etc, etc it's always appearing and sometimes the Shale quest tells me I have not a valid account. When I go to my profile, it's not updated at all and a message tells me that this account is not valid!!

What's happening?? :((((

I can't even start the DAUpdater service from services.msc.

My problem is that while I'm playing I have a DAUpdater crash. I see it because I don't have the downloadable content activated and I have logged in my session. If I press "control + \\" and minimize the game I see the crash window in the desktop. I try to activate the service from services.msc and the error 1053 appears (I have tried solutions from this topic at Bioware forum too ( http://social.biowar.../58/index/81613 ) So I decided yesterday to try to solve the problem reading that link. But when I'm in this part of the 3.2.4 solution: installutil /u "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe" the same crash error appears.

So I don't now that to do. If I click in the exe from the Dragon age directory, the same crash appears. I can't make the DAUpdater work in any way. So please, what should I do? :(

PS: If i do not logon in my account in the game, the downloadable content (shale quest) is activated and working, but If I logon, it tells me is not activated, but why?? I have played for more than one month now! And I have the game code in the registry cause I see it in the gameinfo utility of DAO!

The answer has been:

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding your Dragon Age: Origins purchase. It is always a pleasure to assist our customers in any way that we can.

I would request you to manually uninstall you game and than install it for that link is given below:

http://help.dragonag...p?p_faqid=23831

Download the latest patch from the link given below:

http://social.biowar...ame_patches.php

If there is anything else we can help you with please let us know.

Sincerely,

I have asked for my profile in this website telling me the game code is invalid, and if that is gonna solve that problem too.

Anyway, what a "solution". Uninstall everything.

What a disaster, don't you think?

Do you think is better to wait for a patch or what? :(

EA customer support is just generically vomited up solutions.

DA kills my modem-- every attempt to access the internet during gameplay kills the modem and it has to be reset. I issued a ticket and they give me bull**** about turning off background programs.

GOD you'd think I'd learn after dealing with the BS that was BF2 and 2142.

GREAT!! I solved my problem! Asking again to EA they told me to start the DAupdater manually, and bla bla bla.... so I said to me..."oho no, the same again...." but in some part of the asnwer, EA said this:

Stardock customers, please download the following file and add it to our Dragon Age\\bin_ship folder.

http://stardock.cach...mba/service.cmd

Once you have saved this file to the folder, run the file. This will attempt to install the updater service.

I'm not Stardock customer, but that solve my problem!!

Anyway my profile here still the same, it tells me that the game code is invalid... :(
