Or just buy the "Space above and beyond" franchise. It must be cheap as hell.

I applaud those who still have a shred of hope left for this once epic series. Given the existing endings, with only one (I'm using the term one generously) showing us what we think is Shepard taking a gasp of breath, the chances of having a decent resolve seems a bit far fetched. If they did decide to roll with a supposed reunion, then that would mean that Destroy is the canon ending option. Many did not pick it, nor want it to be canon, that would also mean that if ME4 were to be a seqeul, many would not buy into it because their choices were not held true.

Thus further limiting that word "choice" Bioware kicked around for 5 years. I'm not bashing anybody or patronizing anyone, but the writing is on the wall, this DLC will probably turn into another money grab, cut from the story mission arc, with maybe one interesting character that would have been better suited for the vanilla story and maybe a new weapon or two that will be plucked from the MP arsenal.

Because with the other endings you know what happened to Shepard and people who picked those as their main endings got their closure in regards to their Shepard.  People who picked Destroy got the inconclusive and weak breathe scene.  Also keep in mind one reason a lot of people picked Destroy is it gives Shepard a chance to live.  Of course the main reason to pick destroy is the fact that the reapers are an abominatin that need to be elminated.  

Also from a numbers stand point Destroy is most likely the most popular ending by a wide margin so in terms of generating interest for DLC sale numbers destroy would be Mass Effects very own "COD crowd."

It's what there is. 

You would need a statistical significant and representative poll from the entire playerbase to "prove" that the above is representative or not representative.

That trend though... Seems rather pronounced.

EDIT: I agree on waiting and seeing with both dlc and me4 though. Lets judge those on their own merit when we know what the hell we're talking about.

Yeah but I'd say the numbers would only tell part of the story. We don't get to find out why most picked a particular ending for sure and thus if you build something on that ending you again risk alienating the people who picked that ending.

Just as if you picked a less popular ending.

Sounds like a fantastic idea, OP. But Bioware seems hell bent on pissing off its playerbase now. Not sure why but it is what it is.

If the last DLC does not in anyway address Shepard's breath scene a lot of people will write off the franchise and me4 will suffer and Bioware will feel it in some way shape or form it is inevitable those who disagree with me that's fine but it is inevitable it is the will of the force

Edit:  And yeah, if Bioware doesn't do something to extend an olive branch with this DLC, good luck convincing us to come back for ME4
