I'm just curious, is there a way to get get gold from Lord Dace if you get him to bribe you to agree with him? I get a credit note, and he tells me to cash it in after I'm done in the Deep roads, but of course I loose everything when I'm done that part.

You can sell it to one of the merchants and get about 25 gold, IIRC

When you first get the note don't talk to the king and instead go outside and sell the note to a merchant outside. Yay free gold at the beginning. Sorry if the info is wrong as I didn't get the note when I did the origin.

You lose everything, but coin so before you head off to talk to your brothers (when your dad asks you to fetch them), sell everything in your bag because after talking to Trian, your character will automatically appear in the Deep Roads. The note is worth 25 gold to a vendor. You can also squeeze a few more gold out of the shaperate by asking for compensation after taking his side in the argument.
