You think we should have been preparing for the Reapers? Sure we should have, but that would be a different story. The whole point was that no one believe they exist until it's too late.

we're saying that the Collectors shouldn't even have been written into the story arc period.

The focus should've been kept on the Reapers.

The focus was always on the Reapers, the Collectors were just their servants. Just like Saren, the Heretic Geth, and Cerberus.

you spend the entirety of ME2 trying to find a way to make it through the Omega 4 relay and take down the Collectors. When what we should've been doing was trying to find a way to take out the Reapers

Given how easily destroyed the Collector cruiser was by an unupgraded Normandy, they could've had a small fleet of cruisers stationed around the Omega 4 relay, ready to intercept any Collector cruiser that jumped through, thus cutting off the Collectors from the rest of the galaxy, unable to continue abducting humans.

The reveal that Sovereign was actually a Reaper didn't come until Virmire (like the Collectors = Prothean husks revelation), and the revelation about the conduit's true purpose didn't come until Ilos, which was barely before the end. You're trying to find things to complain about.

I hope you realise that we learned this after we went though the relay, right?

What does that have to do w/ ME2?

Uh, no. I hope you realize that the Collectors' origin was stated to be beyond the Omega 4 relay. They just don't know where the Omega 4 relay leads to.

ME2 is also the story of this cycle's indoctrinated control-seeking splinter group replacing last cycle's indoctrinated control-seeking splinter group.

They said about 400 times that they are done with the ending and there won't be post ending DLC.

How can there still be people who think there may be a possibility?

I like the IT, but it's beyond obvious at this point this is all the result of poor writing.

"Obvious" is it? How so? IT doesn't actually need any additional content to be true.

It does need a lot of headcanon and superstitious faith to be true. A lot of appologetic handwaving too.

IT has no headcanon, as we didn't make anything up.

IT is such a fun little topic. I may not believe it, but I'm certainly a partisan member and enjoy talking about it with the believers.

It's at least more interesting that repeating "Bioware sucks" all the time.

Of course it won't be post-ending. They've said as much.

Which is why I haven't bought any of the DLC.

Thanks BW for saving me money.

Some do enjoy extreme levels of mental gymnastics rather than admitting ME3 is a Gears clone McRPG with a story that would make even Ed Wood facepalm that's for sure.

Indeed. And it slightly irks me when people call them "idiots" or "loonies". They believe in IT just like any number of us believe differently on which ending is better.

Well then either I'm really good at mental gymnastics or you suck at them, because what you call IT is what I saw on my very first, and spoiler-free, playthrough.

It really is something how the IQ of everyone else drops to the negative digits in order to make the collectors seem like an actual "threat", give the kiddies their power trip and justify the idiotic "Dark and edgy" working with Cerberus plot.

I'll admit that it's more complex than saying "BioWare sucks" all the time, but it's just people trying to cover up the fact that, well, BioWare sucks now. That said, they are no longer to be referred to as BioWare, but as EAware.

I wouldn't doubt you'd win the gold at it if it was an olympic sport.

The rest of us who weren't mesmerized by the pew pew and waifu romancing recognized what idiotic schlock both sequels were and how the only logical ending to ME3 is a galactic equivalent of the Anglo-Zanzibar war as a result of ME2 pointlessness within the first few hour(s) of the conflict.

You know what's the current problem with IT? You true believers haven't made it crazy enough. You need stuff about JFK's assassination, the faked moon landings, male asari, and so forth.

Especially as a Sole Survivor (SS) Shepard.  With the other backgrounds it was at least semi-plausible but with SS Shep, from the get go I was like... no way.  Thanks for resurecting me and all but go F yourself Cerberus.

Believe it or not, it has to be said. Some stubborn people still hope for a post-ending DLC. And some delusional people actually believe that the upcoming DLC will most definitely be post-ending DLC.

The only way to stop the Collectors/Reapers was to work with Cerberus, I didn't like them but there were no other options, and I mean in-universe.

And the Collectors aren't a threat in terms of strength or firepower, they're like STG, relying on tactics and tech to win, like the Seeker Swarms. They always avoid conflict.

They stopped caring about the backgrounds in general in the sequels. You'd also think there would be something special for Sole Survivor in Grunt's loyalty mission with that whole business of fighting a thresher maw or Spacer Shep getting some unique lines in Tali's mission but lol nope.
