Then your point should be that men shouldn't be gratified, not women. Which is ridiculous. Of course there is more to people than their bodies. That doesn't mean that people shouldn't seek gratification from them. The problem is when people are objectified, objectification and gratification are two seperate things. Sex is natural etc. etc.turaco wrote...
no the word is gratified, meaning that women i believe shouldnt be purely used to satisfy men, there is more to a woman than her body. I cant believe you guys, I was looking for some info and you guys make me not want to come back here. So if you want to accost a kid and make him feel like crap then good you succeeded. I dont know what you guys consider morales, but there freaken screwed up. Thanks for harrasing me, guys , I just want everyone to know that these forums suck. Thanks shadow fang, your one of the only ones that has not made me feel like a freak.

Maybe I didn't read everything, but I don't remember you ever mentioning that you were Mormon in any other post, so there's really no need to bring that into this. Nobody is "attacking" you. And what made DAO and DA2 so unclean that you modded them "clean"? It obviously wasn't the violence, since you seem fine with that.turaco wrote...
Yes this has been derailed very badly. I am sorry for all of the arguing. And i know you guys think that umm I am not mature to play these games. And i guess for some reason just because I am lds and actually believe in morales, and that a girl's body should be respected and not gratified, and that I am some how horribly confused, and un mature. I posted this topic, so I could make sure that da3 would not be more explicit than DAO , and that maybe they could put option in on it. I keep apologizing for all this arguing but frankly you guys dont get it. And when I was talking about nudity i was talking about it in general not in dragon age. And i dont know why i am getting attacked for my beliefs. Please stop the arguing, I am really sorry for all this contention. Also FYI i went in to DAO and da2 and modded them so they would be clean, i dont know about you buy it was really hard work, and somepeople would actually respect that and might say good job standing up for what you beleive in. I dont know why you guys keep arguing with me off topic, I posted this topic so I could find out the explicit content. Thats all. And maybe, convince bw to add options for explicit content. Thats all.

No, women shouldn't be purely used to satisfy men. No one is arguing with you on that account. However, nudity in this context is not there to satisfy anyone's urges.
And, please read and think for a moment, nudity as a concept is not regarded as degrading by (most) women. Many women her have said so and we, as women, are the only ones who can decide what is or isn't degrading to us. So please stop assuming your opinion is superior.
My morales are perfectly fine, thank you.
Please, feel free to leave in a huff now.

This whole thread begs the question, where is the male desire demon
Do demons even have genders?
I always assumed that the desire demons we saw just took on the form of females to appear more tempting.

Kid, go to bed and stop sneaking past your parents to play stuff they don't approve. The blame lays on you. You should not be playing this game. If you do, take responsibility for having seen things that shock you. You disrespected responsible adults that made the ESRB, you disrespected your parents wishes and you got a bad result that was all too predictable.

Also there seems to be this weird rule in video games that nudity is okay as long as it's on some sort of nightmarish harpy-monster. See: broodmothers in Origins and Banshees in Mass Effect 3.

From the perspective of someone who is deeply religious, sex may be practically synonymous with the creation of life, hence ideas like the sanctity of life and sanctity of the woman's body, so for such a person it may not seem unreasonable to place that on a higher plane than the destruction of life. A cynical outsider may see that as backwards or a convenient excuse to tell women what to do, though he just as much sees our pov as perverse in the eyes of god. So yea this discussion will not go anywhere.

Well, I don't know about whoever that guy is, but I'm pretty sure some demons do have genders, and others do not. Desire demons are female, and I'd say maybe Pride demons are male. Some spirits have genders too. Valour and Justice are male, while Faith are likely all female.Foopydoopydoo wrote...

I'm pretty sure demons are genderless.

Ya but... Is this the only thing against his religious sensitivities ?
We all know how the LDS church funded the Prop 8 fanatics in California so we know for a fact bisexuality and homosexuality are against their views. We have those on DAO, Zevran is bi and says so, and so is Leliana. And on DA2 we have those in spades plus a transgender woman. Those are just the ones I know are against his LDS teachings, I'm sure there are much more.
He should not be playing this game. I am pretty sure his parents did not authorize it, and if they did, neither he nor them should be whining it doesn't cater to their views. The press is full of references to the bisexuality and nuddity present on BW games.
OP and his parents need to take responsibility for their actions, not whine that they are offended mature games are mature.

Any notable content that might affect a game's rating is included on the game box. The ESRB has a letter labeling system as well as content descriptors that call out things like "partial nudity," "sexual themes" or "suggestive scenes" or the like. You can usually find the content descriptors on the ESRB website if you don't have the game box handy. Across the pond, you will be looking for a BBFC or PEGI rating and descriptors.
End of line.
