What if ME4 starts at priority earth?

Hear me out here (sort of serious explanation inc.) They said they wouldn't do post ending DLC, doesn't mean they can't make a whole new game!
They said this is the end of Shepards story. Well not if the game isn't truly over!!

I'm calling it. ME4 is ME3.5

Done.

Unlikely

As far as i recall, they have said countless times that this is the end of Shepards story. but i might be wrong about that aswell.

Quite simple. Convert Me4 into a full scale linear FPS with more MP importance than SP with no RPG elements. RPG fans will all leave in disgust and then they have their FPS fan base that won't complain....

Ohh i sure as hell hope not!

Indeed. But considering the direction they have been going lately, would not surprise me in the slightest.

To be honest, it kinda would surprise me, they loose the very thing that people love about ME, and that could set down their sales dramaticly, i hope it never comes to that.

Yeah I do hope they go back to their roots again. I really wanna love Bioware again, But they are making it really hard for me to do so.

So in other words, turn ME3 into Halo. As for Bioware going back to it's roots, I don't believe that is possible. The console and PC game markets have essentially merged. Also notice the differences between ME1(released before Bioware was Acquired by EA) and ME2. Personally, I think Bioware will die if and when Gaider retires or dies tragically, just as Squaresoft went downhill when Sakaguhci left to make his own company.

I've said this time and time again,

Make the setup as a council united exploration vessel to explore another Galaxy, the plot is compatible with all 4 endings (yes even refuse) as well as the fate of non-council species such as the Quarians, Geth and Krogan,

There is still the green/not green part

No problem, just make 2 textures for all the Milky Way Species. all the ones in the new Galaxy would stay the same regardless of choice

To the OP, they won't be able to. ME3, DA2, and ToR was the wake up call for many that Bioware isn't "prefect".

If it isn't a prequel, it will most likely be a midquel (I'll use Halo ODST as an example).

I don't see how there can be a sequel without creating three very different games. As misleading as the "wildly different conclusions" statement was, the three resolutions are still diverse enough in their outcomes that a sequel would be difficult if not impossible to implement.

I can see a midquel where you play as the VS during the two years Shepard was MIA, ending at Horizon... might be a little anticlimactic, though.

Perhaps you can play as a soldier under the command of Anderson during the battle of Earth, while Shepard runs around collecting war assets...

I really don't know. I just can't see how this game could be extended past ME3, if not backwards.

Impossible, they will have to make a canon ending. Even then not everyone will be happy. I for one would have no interest in a universe that was synthesized.

They won't, just the 2 people who genuinely love Synthesis will be happy.

They're not, and they shouldn't. Simple as that.

As long as the next games a sequel, the glow is the easiest problem of all to deal with, make the green glow a temporary phenomenon caused by the synthesis process, once the glows faded and gone,  they can write it into the Codex.

Why should ME4 even attempt to please everyone, a fool's notion if there ever was one? None of the other Bioware games ever had.

If ME4 is a sequel at all, and remember that it doesn't need to be, they can always cut the knot and choose a baseline continuation canon (the Crucible outcome of choice), while letting the Genophage/Rannoch subplots be little more than cameos along the lines of the Elf/Werewolf quest in DA2.

Given ME3, I'd say the answer is pretty obvious: They won't.

Plenty of people on this forum have come up with ideas for a sequel that wouldn't rule out either of the three choices. Clever dialogue options / codex entries can go a long way. As long as it is presented in a plausible manner, it's not hard to instill a suspension of disbelief.

Given the implications of all 3 endings, I for one would have very little interest in a midquel or prequel - it would be like taking a step back. There's also the issue of fatalism to consider as well.

No more shepard will mean ME4 is a standalone game, We'll get a default type protagonist like marcus fenix, Will be advertised as TPS, Campaign will last 8 hours, Will have Co-op and will have the Horde mode 2.0 Mp.

SP rpg fans like myself will not be the target audience and if it's Next Gen then im sure they'll be other IP's i'll be into anyway, So ME will be like Final Fantasy to me, A game with fond memories but a game i'll pass on.

They'll do a mid-quel. They've said they don't want to do a soldier, but they have the combat engine as the core of the game, so it'll be a mercenary or pirate who stumbles across some big conspiracy and decides to become a good guy.

Just because some people are so attached to their final choice - destroy, control, synthesis - doesn't mean it matters at all.

Mass Effect 4 will be a sequel [speculation]. It will be launched in about 3 years time, on a new generation of consoles. Meaning it will be the beginning of a new trilogy, disconnected from the first one.

BioWare will choose a canon background where Synthesis obviously never happened, and be unspecific about the past - the Reapers were either destroyed of vanished, the relay network was rebuilt, the Citadel is once again the political center of the galaxy but it's stationed around Earth. And that's it.

So, basically, BioWare will be forced to establish a generic common background, and move on. And if we're lucky we'll have the chance to meet some of our favorite characters with a longer life-span, such as Liara and Wrex along the way. I don't know how long Turians live but it would be nice to have Garrus back.

Luckily there're other companies such as CDProjekt or Bethesda ,though the latter is dangerously close to start making games for non-RPG gamers.

Well if the Quarians survived I'd suspect there is still a chance to rebuild them.

Theoretically.

Also at the last bit. I don't think thats necessarily a bad thing (though obviously it could end up like that) that developers good at something try their hand at something else.

I think it could, potentially, lead to some interesting reinterpretations of genres.

They will set it 100000's of years in the future when it makes no difference for some reason.

or they will pick a canon ending.

Skyrim is very much a role playing game, it just sin't stat/number heavy. That doesn't stop it from having the ability to play roles in the game.

they won't keep everyone happy and they SHOULDN'T keep everyone happy

they should make the game they want to make and forget about what these so-called fans say

pleasing the people on here would require massive amounts of time and money going toward 'fixing' things that are perfectly fine

I don't care. ME universe is dead.
