Why does bioware need to care about fan endings again? I mean, does any other franchise have to abide by the accepted non-official or even authorized material of someone who hadn't had any connection to the development of the game outside of final consumer sale?

I have to take morocco mole's side on this, it's ridiculous to insist bioware not make material that would violate a work they didn't make and isn't even in the mass effect canon for the next mass effect game, simply because a few fans have formed an attachment to the idea.

Other franchises (well, most other franchises) don't p*ss off thier fanbase to this degree.

Did I dsay they have to abide by these fanfixes?  No.  I'm saying that these fixes are how people coped with this colossal screw-up, and invalidating them will further antagonize people.

This is why my own thought is scrap the whole thing and start a fresh story with no canon.  Completely ignore ME1-ME3 and start something new with the same setting.

No imports
No returning characters
No ending controversy

And it aint my canon or your canon, its everyones canon. No matter what we do within this time frame be it as a remnant collector, a tear away cerberus group or a member of the turian army we know exactly how it ends. And if your happy knowing exactly how the new game will end before you even start it then good for you but alot of us arnt.

Problem is some people choose IT as their canon.

Others make theirs MEHEM

Or Marauder Shields.

or various other fanfixes.

How can Bioware keep them happy?

DOn't get me wrong,. a prequel or sidequel doesn't really appeal to me, but I am wholly uninterested in a sequel where MEHEM is impossible.

"how can BioWare keep them happy"..easy.By making a good game.I don't think anyone would care about their little "headcanon" then (whatever that's supposed to mean)

A real gamer doesn't ignore a good game just coz "i hate EaWare" lmao

and MEHEM doesn't exist

You would be suprised by how many people hate EA & Bioware. Some people refusr to even buy an EA game.

the same people who buy Assassin's Creed every year."I luv u Ubisoft"

There is a Huge difference between the endings people want and the canon set within the mass effect universe eg seren gets slapped, shep gets killed comes back, collectors get slapped, reapers get pawned.

They also missed out on some crapbomb game endings, like ME3.  I was promissed the sky.....  but what I got after pre-ordering was a bowl of used chum and artistic integrity.

Always judge a product for what it is, not who made it. Otherwise you're just acting irrationally.

I'll take hundreds of hours of quality entertainment with a side of 15 minutes of disappointment. Mass Effect 3 is one of the best games I've played...with the worst ending I've seen. That's a worthy trade-off in my book.

Of course if people don't play EA games because of their invasive EULA on PC or something then I can dig that.

You do that pal.  Enjoy that used chum.  I hope its tastey.

I'll stick with a company that hires good lead writers and devs.  Really, its worse than it sounds.....  but I'm not pre-ordering anything from Bioware ever again.

ME3 was pathetic as far as games go.  It was a rushed trainwreck of stupidity, plotholes and unoriginal noninventive writing.  My pet dog (with some help and goading) can do better than mac and casey did.  If the dog eats the asparagus, Shep dies.  If the dog eats the bacon first, Shep lives.

Real tough, pal.  Make EMS count, and write a good story.  Entice the dog to the good ideas with bacon.  Reward starchild and no bossfight ideas with asparagus and eggplant and cooked carrots.

While I am still angry, and will never forgive bioware for making ME3 suck used chum; I want them to do the right thing and recapture the magic.  I sincerely think they need to reassign mac and casey though.

While I am still angry,

Here's your problem.

Stop getting mad at videogames.Especially games that have been out for over a year.

Sounds like that red glaze over your eyes makes all of it look like chum, when in fact quite a bit of it was extremely tasty sushi.

Why does the BSN constantly, and clumsily, gravitate towards food metaphors? Doesn't really do your position any favors, folks.

It is, in the nearest-to-literal sense, impossible. They can't keep everyone happy.

They won't. Then again, no game ever makes EVERYONE happy. I think the best approach is to pick destroy as the canon ending, and then proceed to create an absolutely stellar game to salvage their damaged reputation from the ME3 debacle. Will it be difficult? VERY. Can it be done? We will wait and see. Best keep an open mind for now.

Because I was trying to decide between sushi and pizza for lunch, and that post helped me decide. Probably the most useful post I've ever had.

I wouldn't mind it as long as Bioware makes a good story out of it.

Plus, witnessing the outrage from teh butthurt f4nb015 would be well worth it.
