This time around I decided to get Elemental Weapons for Merrill (I used Anders to get it previously).

So, she has Elemental Weapons and Rock Armor on all the time. In addition to that she may turn on Blood of the First and Wrath of the Elvhen depending on the triggering of the tactics.

All of these 4 sustainables should put in reserve 110% of mana, which would necessarily mean that the character should not be able to sustain all of them together at an instant. But Merrill has no trouble keeping them all sustained together. The only exception is when she has 'E. Weapons + Rock Armor + WotA' on first, after which it is not possible to turn on 'Blood of the First' due to insufficient mana. Any other sequence of turning on the abilities doesn't care about overusing the mana pool. Not that I'm complaining, but I wanted to know if this is a known bug?

This is a known effect. I'll leave it to others as to whether it's a feature or a bug, but basically, blood magic, spirit healing (and the NPC equivalents) are the only things that check. Otherwise you can have as many sustainables up as you want as long as you don't feel the need to have any mana. Yes, this is a huge advanage for a bloodmage.

Exactly, it's quite an advantage.
Thanks for the reply.
