There was a news article a while back that stated EA would no longer allow any game produced by their developers to go out with a multiplayer element to it.

So, heavily implied that DA3's gonna have MP of some sort. But nothing specifically announced for it or anything; just speculation at this point.

I would assume so, unfortunately. Even if the servers were still up, unless they somehow consolidated ME3 and ME4's multiplayer, I doubt it would be running a couple years from now; it's a shame, because I'd like to know that I can pick up this game in 5 years when nostalgia hits, and still play MP.

edit: I too am hoping for a "firesale" of some sort when the game reaches the end of its life.

Let's be honest, we already knew it that Retaliation was going to be the last MP DLC.

Now for the people that are wondering if the servers will still be online, I don't see a reason of why
they would shut down the servers, at least not until ME4 is released.
the MP it is still played by quite a lot of people, and I imagine that there is still a few people buying microtransactions.

but of course it is on EA's hands and they do have a tendency to shut down servers from "old
games" so people can move and play the new version... (aka EA sports)

Worry about the servers being shut down now is over dramatic and ridiculous.
Halo 2 on the PC only just got it's servers shut down recently.

The thing to worry about is the inevitable drop in traffic for the game's MP with no DLC to bring in attention and keep players hooked.
A lot of people (Me included) will drop this game once they have unlocked whatever characters and weapons they wanted to play with.
The only one I have left to get is the N7 Destroyer and the likelyhood of me getting him soon is VERY slim.
If BW announced a new MPDLC in the next week or so I would probably pump some more £'s into the packs while waiting for it come out.
But their not... and this great MP is going to slowly fizzle out from now.

So sad.

UNLESS, BW prove me wrong, which do hope they do.

Even MORE Citadel? Seeing as the majority of the game took place on the Citadel, the prospect of a "Citadel DLC" isn't all that exciting.

Why shouldn't they continue working on the part of the game that was actually a success?

Can you explain where I was mistaken?
perhaps you misunderstood my comment or something.because EA is very well known to shut down servers from "old games"it's nothing new, and nothing wrong, it's just the reputation of EA (especially EA sports) but even so, I doubt that this would be the case with ME3, since it is still very popular.
And yeah, there were people that were really optimistic, hoping to see even more content.
I would love to see another DLC for Multiplayer, but because of how big retaliation was, and because of the way that they delievered the content, in my opinion it was safe to say that it was the last planned DLC for the Multiplayer.

Im clearly referring only to the dlc comment, hence that being the only piece if quoted. You are mistaken because 1. Ots has already confirmed there will be more mp dlc and bw have clearly requested that he stop his data mining announcements. 2. Bw have stated/implied (in their usual way) more mp dlc is incoming. It is in no way safe to confirm retaliation was the last planned dlc.

The point is that this MP will only die when one of two things happens: when not one more soul plays this game or when EA decides to pull the plug. We cannot control the latter, but we CAN control the former.

I don't know about the rest of you. Maybe you'll grow bored, maybe you'll answer the siren's call of other games full-time. I, myself, have played MP a bit less of late, but only because of the PS3 ME1 release causing me to play through the FULL campaign now.

ME3 MP is the most successful game for me ever. 
It has eaten 3x the fun time over any other game - I've probably got to go all the way back to Baldur's Gate
to find a game that consumed the hours anywhere like in this way (yes I'm an oldie)

I'll be sorely tempted to Tomb Raider, and there's the backlog above...

But maybe just one more mission....

...for Tuchanka...(!)   wroaaarrrrrrrrr.....

And as I imagined, you're clearly misunderstanding my comment.
If you read it again, you'll see that I was refering to the Multiplayer side of things, and we don't know yet if the new DLC
that bioware is teasing us about it, is multiplayer or Singleplayer.
As I said, I doubt it's multiplayer, because of how big the DLC Retaliation was, and the way that BioWare delivered
the content, that's why I believe it was the last DLC planned for Multiplayer just like many people were
wondering when BioWare announced that the characters would be released each new character per week, many
people were wondering in the forums if that means that it was the last DLC.
and I think it was.

and where exactly have they stated/implied that there will be more MP DLC to be announced?

Surprise surprise you still didn't read my post. I only ever mentioned mp, never sp. Clearly making it only about mp dlc. Once again, ots has already confirmed mp dlc, clearly making it something planned. By the way, as you probably imagined, I'm not going to sift through pages for quotations from bw either. If I remember right, they said the last DLC will bring tears to people.
My guessing is, someone dies in the dlc. What else could bring tears to people? Especially when ME3 has been killing characters left and right just to make the story looks tragic and "emotional".

Yes  I read your post, and I'm asking, where it was confirmed? Because I never saw it.
The only thing that I remember about bioware talking about future DLC, was from Chris Priestly, when he said that there will be more DLC content to be announced.
but that was really it.
And in that case if it's confirmed as you are saying than that's great, but why does this thread exists then?

Even if Bioware stops supporting ME3 online multiplayer we'll still be able to play it regardless! I just hope they address all the remaining bugs before they're done supporting it!
