Hmmm. The reasoning over killing off the Asari is starting to make me re-think my previous answer. Might change it to the Batarians (or possibly Krogan) and Asari.

Think of all the Talimancers!

Well, I've had enough human, I want a new challenge. I have no idea how Quarians look so they're off the table. Turian, Krogan, Salarian - nope. Leaves only one option:wizard:

Haven't you heard?  The Quarians all look like British models for the ladies, and Jayne Cobb for the men.

I also heard Quarians had 2D faces. Not cool

Meh, only when they don't feel like going through the extra work to make themselves 3-D.

Well, I'm not sure I want anything to do with such lazy species :bandit:

Leviathan and Batarian,,

Or Geth (I like Legion in ME2, just not so keen on him in ME3... Wished he'd just stick to the Dyson Sphere plan by rebuilding it. Heck, maybe even get the Quarian's help for it)

Humans, because if the story only requires another race to be sacrificed, no one seems to care.

Then don't get me started on those Volus!

And apparently the Raloi are too chicken to even exist in any dimension, prefering the chaotic realm known as fanart.

In all "seriousness":

Though I would take some look at the species potential usefullness and past history I'd still try to keep it to the race, were the fewest amount of lives were lost.

Why do we need to sacrifice a species?

We can sacrifice the Geth.

If we sacrifice humans then the Bioware writers won't be around to write this inane trilogy right? Humans.

I would sacrifice cockroaches. Seriously, **** those things. Mosquitoes and flies would be right behind them.

The Geth actively worked with the Reapers and tried to kill us FOR THREE GAMES IN A ROW.

It's not like they're really alive, anyway.  They're just playing the flashlight head "Johnny Five Is Alive" sympathy vote.

Get them deaded already.

The Leviathans, if there is a species in the Mass Effect universe that deserves annihilation, it it them, they are after all responsible for the creation of the Reapers and consequently all of the genocides that the Reapers have committed, so it would only be fitting, not to mention that with the Reapers defeated, the Leviathans are the biggest known threat to the species of the Milky Way Galaxy.

Ooh, the Leviathan. Yes, that's a much better choice. Get rid of the Reapers AND their creators at the same time.

Javik the Brothean, as a representative of his people, would will it and it would not be without poignancy if he were allowed to sacrifice himself to make certain the Empire's nemesis were vanquished. "Avatar of Vengeance" indeed, in that case.

Shame that was apparently lost on the writers...

Leviathans, that would probably be a bonus to the galaxy.

It might seem evil but after all they seem ok with what the Reapers and the Catalyst is doing so it seems they might actuayl be the oens deserving it the most considering they created that monster to begin with.

Batarians, after Arrival their numbers were low anyways. Plus most batarians my shep met in the game were butt faces.
