Bioware leave ME3 to die already, stop wasting time making those DLC's and focus entirely on the making of ME4.
I don't like you.
But you are welcome to your own opinion.

No, but the Edmonton team appears to have had their last ME3 creative meeting, so everything that's coming appears to be in the pipes.

Yeah went back and looked. No SP DLC from ME2 nor ME3 made a specific gender reference to Shepard nor did they refer to it as "DLC." The closest they came to a DLC reference was describing additional features like acheivments, new weapons, etc. 99.9% chance it's a fake.

Though I still can't see how Shep can do anything in this ending, even if she/he did survive. I mean Shep was messed up and even if she/he wakes up magically healed the DLC would be what, Shep walking and seeing a bunch more cutscenes? And no way you'd take over as someone else, that would be... bleh!
There you go, bottom lined it. BW has us by the short hairs and they are twisting them for all they're worth. There will be blood.
This statement right here just shows how wrong (or intentionally cruel) BW got that rubble ending. In a game that was about customization (in character creation, and choices), they said it would have been impossible to customize such a scene for everyone. The thing is had they done it upon the initial release, the vast majority of people would have accepted that. Say that the original ending had made sense (relays didn't blow up which should have destroyed the galaxy, MP wasn't needed, and so on)-then the gasp might have been a bit less stupid. If the next scene had shown Shepard recovering in a hospital with his/her LI walking up and hugging him/her, and with friends standing nearby, people would have by and large accepted that.
Since that was not included, people have had time to wonder what a "reunion" ending should look like for themselves. They all have different ideas, but would have accepted one idea back then. And would have then gone on to imagine blue babies, homes on Rannoch, drinking with Garrus and everyone else who wanted to get Shepard drunk. One small scene would have worked for the vast majority because it would have created the foundation for a future. That gasp in rubble does not create any kind of real feeling foundation for that future for that same vast group of people.

Man if this were true this DLC would have to completely erase the epilogues. Don't see how Shep can give the control monologue and somehow be alive. And for people who don't have the EC it would have to do different things there because there is no way for BioWare to know who has it (though I suspect most people do). That just seems like way too much extra work they'd have to do to make so many versions of this.
Nah... it could be like this...
Take a squad (Not as Shep) into the ruins and find....
Control > A big server containing Shep controlling the reapers
Synth > A beam of light with Shep's essence (Space Magic)
Low Destroy > Shep's Body - Dead.
High Destroy > Shep's Body - Alive (just)
Refuse> Can't import into DLC... everyone died...
Just the ending of the DLC vary....

And that's why it's not going to happen. This whole ending hype train reminds me of the years between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi in which a goodly sum of Star Wars fans refused to believe Darth Vader was Luke's father. It seems absurd today, but way back when there were tons of theories on the subject.

OK I don't want to play as someone else. Would be lame to just walk through rubble, there'd be nothing to do but walk, walk, walk. Also, "look there's Shep's leftovers... Ooooohhhhhhhh. How nice. Guess we know what happened. Can't touch them or the Reapers may go back to being hostile. Maybe we'll build a nice little shrine here. Ok, back to the Normandy."

Well I'd prefer to reunite briefly (or forever with High Destroy) with Shep (Control / Synth / High Destroy) or Bury Shep (Low Destroy) in something like that, over what we have now..

Ha, ok I'm going to reference Star Trek here. Could you imagine if it was like that one episode (if you saw it) in STNG where Scotty from the original Star Trek is stuck in a transporter beam? Shepard is basically stuck as data within the synthesis beam or within the control apparatus, and the process can be reversed. This also has some actual basis in fact.
Scientists in trying to create transporter technology have considered (and had some success) using data transfer as the teleportation mechanism. In SciFi, Star Trek specifically, this means that some device reads your DNA makeup as data, sends out the data and disassembles your organic matter. A receiver, gets the data and puts that into organic matter to reassemble it. I think BW got the idea of the protein vats and the reapers from Star Trek and the replicators. The replicators work kind of like transporters except the transporters seem to send organic matter too. The replicators use data to build food and things from stored organic matter.
Recently as a side note, it was also announced that DNA could store MP3s, jpgs and other files.

People get upset if Marc Walters scratches his left ass cheek wrong.

Some will, but an even larger group is so invested (money and say, feeling wise) in Shepard. We will buy it and sure, many will grumble about it, but the choice is to give up on a game (3 games) that cost no small bit of money and time or pay a little bit more and get a decent ending, one that makes it possible to want to replay the games. It's like this (and I know Shepard isn't a real person); Shepard is being held hostage. Would you pay $15USD to rescue him/her and salvage what s/he stood for as well as the story? I would, but everyone decides how low they would go to have that. I don't like it, but I've spent my money on worse things-and surely wasted more than $15 on such things.

Who's to say they won't?
The EC was never intended to be part of Mass Effect 3. It was never intended to be part of Bioware's vision for ME3. The EC was hastily built as a kneejerk reaction to the hullabaloo about the endings, as they were shipped. The endings as they were shipped were part of Bioware's vision for Mass Effect 3, but they were not the full story.
The EC is a crutch for those who were unwilling to accept the endings as they were presented, nothing more, nothing less.
"Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut is a DLC pack for Mass Effect 3. It was released on June 26, 2012 for all platforms worldwide, except for PlayStation 3 in Europe, where it was released on July 4, 2012. It will be available for free download until April 12, 2014"
What happens after this date? With the DLC cycle for ME3 likely to be complete and every element of the story completely revealed, and Mass Effect 4 on it's way, will the EC even be relevant anymore?
