Basically what your implying is that you want some long drawn out craptastic "Return of the King" epilogue, showing what each and every last squadmate is doing after the war....and show Shepard holding his L.I. in his arms. (Even though we know what each and every squadmate is going to do after the war). It doesn't get more cheesy than that.
What? No we don't, we have very little idea of what people might be up to, so something that exposes on this might be something I'd enjoy.
I don't really mind though. I was unsatisfied, so I wrote what they did.
I'm a sucker for those cheesy romantic ending types anyway.

Begrudingly, so am I.
Although I much prefer it when they're hard earned by lots of angst and sacrifice.
ME3 was a little too upbeat, to me. Everything you do is successful except Thessia, and you fix that anyway.

I want this to be true because whenever I replay ME3 I stop at London mission. :-p

Definitely this.
And it just isn't him suriviving... it's about actual satisfying closure that is built from what came before instead of a sudden theme and tonal shift that focuses on the technological singularity that hadn't been anything in the main trilogy. I think many would have been disgruntled, but okay if Shepard died if it actually followed the story. As it stands, Shepard became an idiot or died for no good reason simply because of some plot device to deliver an arbitrary decision that came out of nowhere.

The only thing I wouldn't mind is seeing Shepard stand up out of the rubble with that creepy smirk of his. (Like ME1), then cut to credits. If not, its whatever because I know he's alive and what all of his squad is going to do now that the war is over, anyways.
Again... if Shepard stayed dead and we got that kind of epilogue, the outrage would have been muted. But then, you are ignoring actual points against the ending as it stands to outright denegrate those of us not happily defending the plot hole laden fiasco that has dragged the series off the pinnacle of gaming. At least try to actually discuss the points brought up. I know I know... it's a difficult job actually trying to defend the ending with actual evidence.

We both knows how well desperate hope works in real life(not). I am well aware of MEHEM and this is not the first time something like that was made. Truth be told, it doesn't matter. Controversy is publicity and emotions are a good game seller. No matter how pissed off everybody is most of the people on this forum will be back on the hype train at least 3 months before ME4.

Why didn't the Catalyst activate the relay in the Citadel and end this years ago? How the hell did one little program manage to betray a species, create a Reaper that looked just like them, and not get wiped out before he had an army? Why was the Crucible never attacked before the end mission... why was it so easy to build... why did it suddenly appear when most needed? Why does the Catalyst and ending ignore the fact that Shepard can make peace with synthetics and may have been championing tolerance for the whole trilogy? Why does Harbinger fly away instead of finishing Shepard... or fire on the Normany in the EC? Why does Shepared suddenly believe control is possible two minutes after arguing that option down... and oly because the Reaper god said so?
They are plot holes because they are left unexplained and just gigantic holes of logic in the narrative left gaping. The EC and Leviathan actually created more problems than they solved and we are left with questions that need to be answered or the narrative breaks down under any amount of scrutiny. So yes, plot hole...guess you are one of those people you were just talking about. Oops.

"Logic" you say? Funny how that's all that is needed to explain every last little thing you listed. And hell, some of those are explained right in the game.
Just because you can ask how or why, doesn't make it a plothole.
Why didn't it open up the Citadel Relay? Umm play ME1
How did one little program betray an entire species? Umm play Leviathan
Why didn't the Crucible get attacked? Probably because its location was secret and was being built outside of Reaper controlled space.
Why was it so easy to build? Hmm well, the past cycles that have been adding to it over millennia must've figured it would continue to get passed along to the next cycle, wouldn't they want them to be able to comprehend it?
Why did appear when most needed? Probably because the writers didn't think of it until after ME2. Story-wise though? Hmm probably because its the best kept secret in the galaxy (the Catalyst even acknowledge it thought the designs had been eradicated). And was just now discovered because of the renewed interest in Prothean research after the events of the first two games (read datapad on Mars, explains this and that they found a second Prothean archive deeper in the surface of Mars)
why doesn't it recognize that Shepard can make peace with synthetics? The Peace won't last. Synthetics will always come into conflict with organics. It's been around for a billion years and knows this is one simple truth.
Why doesn't Harbinger finish of Shepard? Probably because he thinks he's already dead considering he had just blasted his ass and he was out cold. (Notice Shepard has to 'wake up' and stumble to the beam. And did you see him? He looks like a zombie. He looks like a walking corpse.)
Why doesn't Harbinger blast the Normandy? Hmm priorities?! Making sure that none of dozens of soldiers and Makos charging the beam make it. Because after all, making it to the Citadel is the key to docking the Crucible and defeating the Reapers. So, shall we stop our immenent destruction by making sure not a single soul makes it up there OR should I turn my attention to this ship that isn't even bothering me? You figure it out.
Why does Shepard believe Control will actually work 2 mins after arguing against it? It's called "dramatic Irony". When things aren't always as you thought they were. Happens in countless works of fiction.
Hmm as I said "plot holes?" Lol.
All I did was play the game, pay attention and use common sense. The idea that you think something is a plothole because you weren't spoon-fed every last detail with an explaination is quite telling. When each and every one can be extrapolated with a bit of common sense.
Oh....but there is an actual plothole amongst all the stuff that clearly makes sense. Anderson: "I followed you up the beam....". Ummm no you didn't bro lol
