Ugh, I hate it when people talk like that. How did it change your life? Besides you finding a franchise you enjoy?

Do you not realize anything can improve someone's life.  Mass Effect helped me go through a lot of phases of hardship and helped me improve a lot of my gutiar playing because Jack's character inspired a lot of emotional output onto my playing.  It's a plus that I enjoyed it so greatly, but I'll never forget the series, even if I didn't like the third one, two will have a special place in my heart and so what if it's just a game.

I never said a game can't improve your life, I just implied that they won't cause your life to drastically change.

And you know this how?

Are you any of these people?

Yes, they are video game addicts.

I don't know where I'd be in life if it wasn't for ME. The friends I've made, the universe I've explored, the therapeutic music and relateable characters. It's more than a game to me.

But did it change how your life played out in a significant way?

you're confusing my meaning. Aside from gamer addicts who lose their job and loved ones, etc, games really don;t change the outcome or course of your life. game addiction does.

Games can change how you view things and the people you meet, but they really cn't change your life that significantly.

I'm sorry if my meaning is still unclear, I'm not really great at english and am having a hard time conveying what I mean.

How? Did the game cause you to move to a new country? Quit your job and get a new one? etc?

Leviathan was decent, not great. LotSB was great.

What was so great about LotSB?

Engaging story, good level design, varied game play, the right amount of combat, and two boss fights.

it also fixed something a lot of people were pissed about

and what would that be?<_<

the awful way Liara (and the VS but that was not fixed) was handled in ME2

it was done SO bad in the vanilla game that it pushed many in the arms of a new LI (and it was intended.....I believe)

I think so, but unless it was from team dextro, they actually paid for it in ME3 with the way the SM team was treated. Well, they were warned there would be consequences. My guess is they went the way of Shepard´s trial.

Have you guys read the book "Extra Lives: Why Video Games Matter" by Tom Bissell? He devoted an entire chapter to mass effect and how it supports the idea of living through the main character (similar to how he stated so regarding Oblivion) and how the moral choices reflect your character in real life.

Isn't that more you changing the game than the game changing you?

Moving to a new country? No

Quitting my job? What it did do is fuel my inspiration to work in the field of video games. ^_^

Oh, then I guess those game developers who would've never been a game developer until they played some game they loved and then wanted to make games don't count then?

Hell, the entire reason why I got into computers was because I played old computer games on my family's Windows 95 computer.

Well, actually, that is entirely possible and has happened. I'll be darned.

Congratulations, you are right.

Eterna, you're thinking of different terms than I am, where as "drastically" can be subjective. For example, what if someone needed an emotional positive upbringing and Mass Effect gave them just that and it changed them emotionally and more importantly, positively? Sure, there can be game addicts and negative consequences, but changing your life "drastically" doesn't have to be defined into "quitting your job, blah blah" type scenarios.

This too. God damn it man.

It's why I went to technical school. It appears, I'm all games.

My hopes are really low already, so at least I won´t groan.

If it turns out to be ending related, watching the reaction of people who would have enjoyed and defended an intentional horrible ending would be priceless.

I'll quote Angry Joe on this

"If Halo isn't ending, you can bet your ass Mass Effect is not over"

or they realized that it would be unfair to "track the cheaters" and make them pay for infidelity after making their LI act in such an outlandishly OOC manner

Meh, ME3 has dissapointed me so many times, what's one more to add to the pile?

At this pont I'm just awaiting confirmation of disappointement, not expectation of otherwise.
