Wow, 8 seems like an awful lot, but then I have no idea how many writers are typically involved in a DLC.
There is also the possibility that most of the team just wants to participate in some way since it's the last one for the trilogy. When was the original game released, 2007? Not sure how many folks from the original dev team are still around, but holy cow that's a long time to work on one creative property. They will be probably be going through Mass Effect withdrawal symptoms after this is all over. Or very intense relief. Maybe both.
Leviathan had 4 writers as I recall, and that was a pretty big DLC (4 hours of gameplay for me. Took my time with it).
This doesn't sound like Leviathan, I read something about this DLC being the "grand finale".
They actually started laying the groundwork for the Mass Effect trilogy back in 2003. Wrote all the lore, background stuff, as well as the main theme for the series. In 2005 they started working on Mass Effect 1, which like you said came out in 2007 for the XBox 360.

Hard to be disappointed when your expectations are so low that you're tripping over them. I know no DLC they release is going to fix the terrible endings, thus you can only hope for something cool, but still the DLC all feel empty when you know it doesnt matter in the end.

Out of pure selfishness, I hope not. If this is the last we get to see of the characters from this trilogy, I hope they focus on Shepard and the other crew members as much as possible.noobcannon wrote...
has anyone thought this might be some sort of tie in to the next mass effect game somehow? perhaps like arrival? that's assuming the next game is a sequel and not a prequel.

You would hear the collectively universal sound of a fanbase peeing themselves with excitement.
Myself included.

Good. Maybe you'll finally get the message and stop complaining about Harbinger.
And there we go. I didn't think it would be that long before Eterna went full a-hole on this thread.
lol if you think that's full a-hole Eterna.. you haven't been around enough, it gets much worse than that...
@OP and Eterna, my body is *not* ready....

Either the final one like I said or if Mass Effect 4 is a sequel, then it's a "bridge" DLC like Arrival was for Mass Effect 2.
Please tell me you are joking or being sarcastic...Please?
They did say that they would extend Mass Effect 3 to a fourth game. Although this was before the game launched. Mike Gamble said something about "keeping your saves".I don't see what was wrong with his post?
I don't think there's anything wrong either, but his sig hints that he was disappointed by the game and probably doesn't want Mass Effect 4. In that case, he should find a new game to play and move on.
Correction. *She* was disappointed by the game, as were many others, so pull your head in.
My comment was in relation to Arrival being a bridge. It has little to no impact on anything in ME3.

I can't wait till they announce that's its not post-ending or a new one, but this place will turn soooo ugly once they do.

I believe there are only 2-3 writers for your average DLC. 8 is definitely an unusually high number.
Probably because all the NPCs have some content, and they want everyone written by their normal writers.
Looking forward to the teaser, or whatever we get. This place always goes nuts for that sort of thing.

Especially when the composer calls the following tracks tear-inducing.
We could be in for something big folks.

Tear-inducing, seriously? Well now I know why Seth Green was invited back. Need some major Joker banter to balance out the heavy stuff.HiddenInWar wrote...

Perhaps he's a central element to the plot of the DLC
