They actually started laying the groundwork for the Mass Effect trilogy back in 2003. Wrote all the lore, background stuff, as well as the main theme for the series. In 2005 they started working on Mass Effect 1, which like you said came out in 2007 for the XBox 360.

All wrong. They made up 95% of the story as they went along. They never bothered to sit down and plan out anything at all. That's why the story is so disjointed between games.

It should have some relevance to Mass Effect 1. That was my fave. Or at least more about Saren- or synthesis if that's the intended goal and Saren was kinda for synthesis in a way. Hmm, this makes me nostalgic for ME1...

 What's interesting is that this last dlc is shrouded in secrecy more than any other I can remember for mass effect. Unless I'm mistaken, most of the dlc plot details in the past were described to some degree well before this stage in development. As I said, I can be mistaken, I just don't remember any other dlc being this much in the dark

you all have got to stop listening to Mike "Hype Train" Gamble. Anything he says needs to be taken with grain of salt. Everything he says is amazing and true, if you look at it from a specific, EA influenced point of view.

My guess is its screen shots or a strait-up full announcement. We might not see it for a week or 2 since he will have to go through legal to make sure its ok to release. I'm really excited to see what all these people have been working on.

Every day I step in these forums in the hope to see info about this last DLC, a new teaser, trailer or something. This waiting is killing me. But the absolute secrecy surrounding it somehow gives me hope that it will be "that special something" the game needs.

Don't they release DLCs on the last Tuesday of a month? If so, here's hoping for a Feb 26 release.

Hoping they brought back a lot of the old cast to wrap up the squadmates post-ending stories. Fits with the "we won't change the endings" while still providing closure to many, many important teammates.

Alternatively, I'm hoping it's, at least in part, a segue to Mass Effect 4 in a completely separate part of the galaxy so that we don't have to be hamstrung with any RGB choices and the attendant consequences.
