If you would like to use these as screenshots just click the image to get the higher resolution versions. Remember that these images are High Resolution .pngs so it might take some might to load, just be patient :)

______________________________________

Firstly, I realize this might not get much attention here, but it is the correct place for it, so this is where it should be, respectfully.

Recently I did a replay of Mass Effect 1 and wanted to capture all the wonderful vistas that Mass Effect has to offer and share them with you all, so I did.

Some of these Screenshots make for great desktop background, I've even adopted one for my own desktop, if you can guess which one you'll get a cookie ; )

So without further adieu. I give you...

Image IPB

1
Name: Presrop
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Hawking Eta Cluster//Century System//Klendagon
Image IPB
Caption: "Mako phone home." An image of the Mako looking up to the planet Klendagon, with a spectacular view of the Great Rift valley.
Description: Presrop is the moon of the planet Klendagon. It is a frigid, barren world, with an extremely thin atmosphere of carbon dioxide and ethane. The crust contains plentiful deposits of heavy metals.

2
Name: Nepmos
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Styx Theta Cluster//Erebus System
Image IPB
Caption: The Mako looks toward Erebus' star while avoiding the descending embers in Nepmos' atmosphere.
Description: Nepmos is a resource-rich terrestrial world somewhat larger than Earth, with a dense atmosphere of sulphur dioxide and argon. Nepmos' crust is very thin and unstable, not more than 8 kilometers deep in any location. Subsurface magma flows are a hazard to ground travel, and earthquakes are frequent.

3
Name: Altahe
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Styx Theta Cluster//Acheron System
Image IPB
Caption: While hard to see, The Mako is utterly dwarfed by Altahe's sister planet, Ontahe.
Description:Altahe is an exceptional form of planet called a Roche World. Put simply, it's one half of a pair of small and unusually dense terrestrial worlds (Altahe and Ontahe) that orbit each other so closely, they effectively share a single atmosphere. That does not mean one could fly from one to the other, but both have identical atmospheres and dust from one often can be found on the other.

4
Name: Ontarom
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Kepler Verge Cluster//Newton system
Image IPB
Caption: "Cause and Effect." This image captures a shot of Ontarom's moon, Thonal, before it is enveloped by an electrical storm.
Description: Though Ontarom's surface is uncomfortably hot, its nitrogen-oxygen atmosphere and abundant, shallow seas make it an ideal candidate for habitation by most known species. Although life of future colonists may be hindered by the decaying orbit of Thonal, Ontarom's moon. As its proximity shortens, so to does the frequency between the electrical storms it creates.

5
Name: Maji
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Armstrong Nebula//Vamshi system
Image IPB
Caption: A stunning view of Vamshi's binary stars from Maji's surface, Vamshi-A (blue star) and Vamshi-B (red giant).
Description: Maji has a thin atmosphere of methane and carbon monoxide. The difference in temperature between the hemisphere facing the suns and that facing deep space causes constant wind, stirring the silica and sodium dust of the surface.

6
Name: Casbin
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Armstrong Nebula//Hong system
Image IPB
Caption: Meteor showers light up Casbin's serene evening sky.
Description: Casbin is a classic "pre-garden" terrestrial world, with conditions similar to those on Earth millions of years ago. Its hot, humid atmosphere is mainly composed of nitrogen and carbon dioxide.

7
Name: Rayingri
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Armstrong Nebula//Gagarin System
Image IPB
Caption: A close look at Vahtz, the rogue planetoid that fell into Rayingri's orbit.
Description: Rayingri is a small, barren terrestrial world. While it possesses a reasonably temperate climate and a number of useful resources, no mining corporation is willing to risk investment. Earthquakes and cyclonic windstorms are increasingly common on Rayingri. Furthermore, in a matter of centuries Rayingri will be desimated due to the decaying orbit of the rogue planet, Vahtz. Some asari travel consortiums have already announced sponsorship of cruises to observe the spectacle.

8
Name: Antibaar
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Armstrong Nebula//Tereshkova system
Image IPB
Caption: The Mako as it begins it's harrowing journey across Antibaar's unforgiving terrain.
Description: Antibaar is a cold terrestrial world with an atmosphere of methane and argon. Its frozen surface is mainly composed of iron with deposits of magnesium. Antibaar's combination of low temperatures, high speed surface winds, and low visibility make it dangerous to explore on foot.

9
Name: Solcrum
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Armstrong Nebula//Grissom System//Notanban
Image IPB
Caption: "Feeling a little angst?" This incredibly tranquil view of Grissom (captured from Solcrum's surface) should calm you down.
Description: Solcrum is the largest moon of the gas giant Notanban. It has a trace atmosphere of krypton and xenon. The crust is composed of various metals with deposits of sodium. The surface is scorching hot and thoroughly irradiated by the blue giant Grissom. Surface excursions without proper protective gear are certain to prove fatal, thus the level 1 warning hazard it carries.

10
Name: Nodacrux
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Maroon Sea Cluster//Vostok System
Image IPB
Caption: This image captures Nodacrux's wild hilly areas and the pollen that fills the air.
Description: Nodacrux is a verdant world with abundant water, temperate climate, a thick oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere and a rich ecosystem. Unfortunately however, Nodacrux is a case of "almost but not quite." Thunderstorms are as common as on Earth, but in Nodacrux's thicker, oxygen-rich atmosphere, they are deafening and spark constant wildfires. More damning than this is the pollen that pollutes Nodacrux's air.

11
Name: Chasca
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Maroon Sea Cluster//Matano System
Image IPB
Caption: A shot of Chasca's thriving greenlands along the terminator, with a small colony settlement in view.
Description: Chasca is a large, but low density world. It is tidally-locked to Matano. The same side always faces the sun, resulting in a scorching day side and a frozen night side. In the temperate areas around the terminator, temperatures average around 30 Celsius. Combined with a nitrogen-oxygen atmosphere, this slender band of habitable terrain allows limited colonization by humans.

12
Name: Agebinium
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Voyager Cluster//Amazon System
Image IPB
Caption: "There's nothing healthy about a tan." The Mako soaks up the heat and radiation expelled from the red giant Amazon on Agebinium's surface.
Description: Agebinium is a small terrestrial world with an extremely thin atmosphere of carbon dioxide and krypton. Though the planet has sufficient mass to maintain a much thicker atmosphere, much of it has been blasted away from the close proximity to Amazon.

13
Name: Binthu
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Voyager Cluster//Yangtze System
Image IPB
Caption: Binthu's acidic and "supercell-like" thunderstorms rolling in.
Description: Binthu has an atmosphere of carbon dioxide, with a permanent haze of toxic chlorine and clouds of sulphur dioxide that periodically drop torrents of acidic rain on the surface. Its crust is mainly composed of sulphur with deposits of calcium.

14
Name: Nepheron
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Voyager Cluster//Columbia System
Image IPB
Caption: The Mako sits atop a mountain on Nepheron, with a rare view of Nepheron's moon behind its volcanic clouding.
Description: Nepheron is a barren, volcanic terrestrial world with an atmosphere of carbon dioxide and krypton. Its surface is mainly composed of sodium with deposits of magnesium.
Aside from displays of geologic beauty (including many spectacular volcanoes), this barren world is of little interest. Entries relating to Nepheron in the astronomical database are sparse.

15
Name: Eletania
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Attican Beta Cluster//Hercules System
Image IPB
Caption: The Mako sits atop a mountain on Eletania's surface, taking in the spectacle of it's rings.
Description: Eletania appears to be a world eminently suited for colonization. Sadly, appearances are deceiving. It is covered by a verdant carpet of mosses, algae, and lichen, and possesses a thick oxygenated atmosphere.

16
Name: Tuntau
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Argos Rho cluster//Phoenix System
Image IPB
Caption: Tuntau's remarkable ice plains still thrive despite the planet's surface temperature.
Description: Tuntau is an enormous, low-density terrestrial planet, with a thick atmosphere of methane and helium. Despite being nearly 20 AU from Phoenix, the star's great heat and the insulating thickness of the planet's atmosphere make the surface surprisingly temperate.

17
Name: Metgos
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Argos Rho Cluster//Hydra System
Image IPB
Caption: The Mako soaking up the rocky, unstable wasteland that is Metgos' surface.
Description: Metgos is a large terrestrial planet with an atmosphere of carbon dioxide and nitrogen. Its hot surface is mainly composed of nickel with deposits of potassium and heavy metals. It is a mineralogical treasure trove, with concentrated heavy elements constantly being brought to the surface by volcanic activity. Thus it also carries a level 2 heat warning hazard.

18
Name: Mavigon
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Gemini Sigma Cluster//Han System
Image IPB
Caption: "Burr, it's cold out here. This planet needs more heat in it's atmosphere." The Mako struggles to see it's destination on Mavigon's snowy surface.
Description: Mavigon is a small rock and ice planet with a thin atmosphere of ammonia and methane. The surface is frozen, and mainly composed of tin with deposits of potassium. It also has a level 2 cold warning hazard.

19
Name: Klensal
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Hades Gamma Cluster//Dis System
Image IPB
Caption: Klensal's icy surface reflects the sunlight, giving the Mako a scenic view of its landscape.
Description: Klensal has a thin atmosphere of carbon dioxide and ethane. Its first geological surveys were performed by batarians, and suggested areas of great mineral wealth. Human mining concerns spent billions of credits hustling to the distant system and sinking test bores to claim the planet for humanity. Little did they know it was all an elaborate plan by Batarians to get their rival humans investing into a boondoggle expediation.

20
Name: Nonuel
Location: Milky Way Galaxy/Hades Gamma Cluster/Plutus System
Image IPB
Caption: Superficial magma glows beneath Nonuel's surface as the Mako takes in the view.
Description: Nonuel is rabidly volcanic, and the source of its great heat is also the source of its inordinate mass. Nonuel is a "secondary source" of element zero, coalesced around a large chunk of eezo ejected by a supernova billions of years ago.
Surface conditions are extremely hazardous. In addition to the thin crust and numerous magma flows, wide stretches of the landscape are coated with slippery ash and cinders ejected from the volcanoes. Unsurprisingly, It also contains a level 1 heat warning hazard.

21
Name: Trebin
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Hades Gamma Cluste//Antaeus System
Image IPB
Caption: "World's apart." The Mako sits atop a hill on Trebin, struggling to see the unstable orbit of it's moons.
Description: Trebin is a modest terrestrial world, with an atmosphere composed of nitrogen and argon. Its surface is mainly composed of nickel with deposits of silver.
Trebin's environment is relatively mild, but the scarcity of water or similar enabling substances has prevented the development of any biosphere.

22
Name: Chohe
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Hades Gamma Cluster/Cacus System
Image IPB
Caption: Chohe's lack of an atmosphere allows for amazing views of its surrounding space.
Description: Chohe is a terrestrial planet whose surface is mainly composed of aluminum, with numerous deposits of calcium. Though it has enough mass to retain a dense atmosphere, Chohe is nearly a vacuum. This lack of atmosphere allows a moderate average temperature, but the differences between night and day are extreme.

23
Name: Amaranthine
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Horse Head Nebula//Fortuna System
Image IPB
Caption: Amaranthine's unique colour mixed with its approaching storm clouds makes for a great view from the Mako.
Description: Amaranthine is a chilly rock world with an atmosphere of carbon dioxide and nitrogen. Its frozen surface consists largely of light titanium and aluminum oxides, with deposits of thorium and other heavy metals located in the deep crust. Under the dim light of the red dwarf Fortuna, the surface of this world is lit in rich twilight blues and purples even at midday.

24
Name: Xawin.
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Horse Head Nebula//Strenuus System
Image IPB
Caption: The Mako feels the chill of Xawin's low surface temperatures.
Definition: Xawin has a thin atmosphere of carbon dioxide and ethane. The surface is frozen, and mainly composed of cobalt with deposits of copper. Planetside conditions are hazardous, with constant ice storms wracking the surface. Hence it contains a level 1 cold warning hazard.

25
Name: Sharjila
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Artemis Tau Cluster//Macedon System
Image IPB
Caption: The Mako sits awkwardly atop a mountain range overlooking Sharjila's unique mounds. As the System's star, Macedon, burns brightly on the horizon.
Definition: Sharjila has a very dense atmosphere of ammonia and oxygen. Its temperate surface is mainly composed of alumina with deposits of sulfur. High-speed surface winds, often laden with an abrasive silica dust, present a hazard. In areas where the wind deposits a great deal of silica, footing can be treacherous, especially with a level 1 pressure warning hazard.

26
Name: Edolus
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Artemis Tau Cluster//Sparta System
Image IPB
Caption: The Mako temporarily escapes Edolus' verocious dust-winds atop a mountain.
Definition: Edolus is a terrestrial planet with an atmosphere of carbon dioxide and nitrogen. Edolus' surface is covered by wide deserts of silicate sand, with only a few areas of igneous rock highlands to break the abrasive, dust-choked wind.
Edolus' orbit is congested with debris thrown inwards by the gravity of the gas giant Ontamalca. Due to a high rate of meteor impacts, exploration is highly dangerous.

27
Name: Luna
Location: Milky Way Galaxy//Local Cluster//Sol. System
Image IPB
Caption: "Feeling home-sick?" While still being some 384 thousand kilometres away, this is the closest the Mako will get to Earth on this trip. But it wont stop it from soaking in this stunning view from Luna.
Definition: An early source of helium-3, Luna is now mined for materials used in space habitat construction. Two dozen major stations have been constructed at Earth's L4 and L5 Lagrange points, all from lunar resources.

An amazing job, I love these! And you even added the planet descriptions and you own captions :)

For all the hate the Mako got, the vistas on uncharted worlds were one of my very favourite parts of ME1, it's great to have a collection of all of them in one place. This is getting bookmarked for future reference ;)

Thanks Frudi :)

Also, I just recently experienced the Mako on PC, it's much harder to control than xbox lol. But still, it was really fun... I'm already dreading having to use the Hammerhead in ME2 -_-

Bloody beautiful, mate. If the Klendagon Rift was 1920x1080, I'd make it my wallpaper in a heartbeat.

Oh my God, so much this. I was wondering why everyone was moaning about the Mako's handling, then I got ME1 on PC.

And yes lol how weird was it!?!? When I hit Therum and went to get Liara was the first time I got behind the wheel and I almost drove into the lava like 4 times!!

@Dragon Claw, too many... lol

I don't know what you're all going on about, the Mako handles wonderfully on the PC, you just have to learn to ease off the throttle and/or steering a bit once in a while :P
It's those crazy spiky and steep mountains that are the real problem >.<

That's actually a really good point Frudi, it wasn't so much the Mako as it was the terrain... But the Mako *did* take some getting used to on the PC, because Therum is pretty much flat all the way and I almost went critical mission failure on multiple ocassions lol.

Yeah, 1024x576. Something's buggered up, somewhere along the line.

It doesn't follow the aiming reticule. That may be an advantage, but I've been driving that damn thing for five years, and I could make it dance on the Xbox.

Ah, even better now with the hi-res screenshots ;). Again, great job with this, I'm definitely downloading all of these for my ME screenshots collection.
And I'm glad I could be of assistance, it's the least I could do to contribute to this awesome effort :)

This thread shows why I love ME1.

I'm a sucker for space exploration. Mass Effect 1 was the only game in the series to make me feel like that.

Ah... Nostaglia... Vigil Theme.. Now excuse me as I go cry.
