Yep, nothing lost in hoping. But much is lost when despair is something you live with. So if you hope today and hope tomorrow and are wrong, you've had 2 days of hope. If you despair today and tomorrow and are right, you have 2 more days of despair.
The hope train riders smile more, even if it's temporary.
