And Bioware didn't have to make the Extended Cut. They could have just said simply said no. And even if you didn't like what was in the Extended Cut, you could at least say thanks for trying to make it better. It was free download for everyone.
You act like BioWare was doing us a favor. I'm glad that they did make the EC, as it is much better than the original endings (not quite there, but better), but let's not act like we owe them for it. They knew that if they didn't do something, that they would a huge chunk of their fanbase.

Yes, you paid $60 for the product, but there is never a guarantee that you will be satisfied with it. No game developer could put on the box "satisfaction guaranteed!" I, as well as others here, have simply laid out what would allow us to be satisfied again. I'm not hating on BioWare, I genuinely want to be satisfied with the trilogy and devote my full anticipation for the next game. I want this to be post-ending DLC because I want to like the ending.
If they could do that, I and many here would be more than willing to bury the hatchet. As it stands now, they can choose to or choose not to. Most likely they won't, and I'll respond as any consumer can, and not purchase the DLC. That's not because I hate BioWare, but simply because such a DLC would bear little interest to me.
Given that they are a company who's goal is to maximize their profits, what people want and are willing to pay for should be of upmost concern to them. This is why it's confusing to me and others why they refuse to put out the content that people are practically begging for. And they're likely losing out on a lot of money for their refusal as well.

Halo 2 and Mass Effect are completly different games. If you don't get that. Then you don't get ME or get why people are upset.
And what you were told would be on the disk was not, but many could not even get their money back if they wanted to. And then, how do you put a price on a story that then has no ending. You were promised one thing and got something else, and what you were told you would not get is exactly what you got. Only in the gaming industry is this OK with any segment of buyers. If I bought a chocolate cupcake and it tasted like lemon but I was told it was chocolate, I would complain. If I get the wrong order at McDonald's I complain and I don't think I'm alone. I seriously doubt that people that are saying, "it's a game, so what" would say "I wanted fries and got carrots, so what".
It's also a problem when you are talking about something that exists in a series of stories, expecially the last. Stories set up a story world and have internal promises. If you say clowns are evil, then they always are in your stories or you need a damn good reason for them not being evil. And you must tie it all together at the end. Books do that or book critics are hard on them and fans get mad and don't buy. If game devs want to create art then they damn well need to create art and know what that means. Writers must adhere to the craft and the art.

Same way as if i had bought say a toaster and then decided to take it back to the store. I have every right to ask for a refund or replacement and the store has every right to agree with my demands or tell me to sod off.
I would however be very unlikely to shop at that store ever again if my demands are refused.

A poll with 80,000 votes stating that 91% were dissatisfied with the ending. You can claim that this is selective sampling, but 91% is a overwhelming majority with a large number of votes. There would have to be a MOE of +/- 40% for this poll to mean anything else.

I'm not expecting to be 110% satisifed with the ending. But as it stands, there are far too may loose ends and a general lack of closure to be satisfied. The ending would fit just fine as the ending of a 1st or 2nd game in a trilogy, but not the 3rd. There has been plenty of discussion as to what people want. Will some people be dissatisfied? Sure, but if they are listening to what people want, which they claim to, then they should have more than a rough idea as to what would satisfy most people.

I have no hope for this DLC. I have literally no expectation for anything good to come from it. In my opinion, the only good SP DLC for ME3 has been From Ashes.
The only expectation I have is that it will somehow manage to be even worse than I thought.
I would absolutely love for it to be the greatest thing ever. I wished the same with the other DLC's. It's Mass Effect. Of course I want the best for it.
But I want a lot of things I know I'll never have. A major motion picture studio, a Led Zeppelin reunion, a date and relationship with Yvonne Strahovski.
And a decent

We don't require rainbows and lollipops. We just want an ending that MAKES SENSE in the context of Mass Effect. An ending that raises more questions than it answers is what we got, which ironically is exactly what BW said wouldn't happen. This is merely one example of the blatant lies told pre-release.

How can any company satify this kind of fanbase?PainCakesx wrote...
I'm not saying they have to do anything. It's their decision as to whether or not they want to address the endings or not.
I, as well as others here, have simply laid out what would allow us to be satisfied again.
Sure, but if they are listening to what people want, which they claim to, then they should have more than a rough idea as to what would satisfy most people.

no need. There's no poll of every person that purchased the game. Therefore, there's no way to prove what you stated....Hexley UK wrote...

A small (yet, very loud) group of disgruntled customers who hated the ending so much that they resorted to online petitions and cupcakes. The majority loved ME3 despite the disappointing ending. Mass Effect 4 will probably sell more than ME3, given that it will be on new hardware and people want more Mass Effect in general.iakus wrote...

Actions often have bigger impacts. If Bioware continued to exaggerate and make false promises then the gaming community would pick up on this and stop buying their games. You know how capitalism works so I'm not gonna bother being professorial about it. Bioware doesn't seem to be a "short-term profit" type of company so I doubt they'll continue down this road.
I'm already predicting difficulties in convincing people to preorder the next few Bioware games.
Frankly I'm shocked they're seriously going to try and make another Mass Effect game so soon. Given how many people are still smarting over this one.
Source please as all the numbers and info I have seen point to the exact opposite of this.
If your gonna spew utter BS at least try to fake some facts.
Or do you live in opposite world?
See my later posts and then come back....I can't be bothered to post it all again.
There's no way to prove 100% no...but there are good indicators and evidence to support my stance.
Care to provide ANY substantial evidence to the contrary?
Thought not.......
