 So, I'm playing ME2 for the first time and I just triggered this mission. I have Kasumi, Zaeed and the other main characters recruited but I didn't get to check the new 3 dossier missions (Tali, Assassin and Justicar). I did a few assignments (one N7 and a few Firewalker) and Kasumi's Loyalty mission after Horizon though. I read a couple of threads about this but none answered my main doubt which is:

If I continue the game now will I have time to recruit the 3 new members and do all loyalty missions or I will I have to go back to an older save? I'm worried that while I'm doing those the Illusive man will bother me again with another main story mission which will keep me from exploring the galaxy.

Not sure how to explain without spoilers but later in the game, you'll get a mission that you're not forced to do right away. You're told what the mission is and you are given the option of doing it right then or to continue building your squad.

Just pick ''continue building squad'' and you can do as many missions and side-quests as you want until you want to do the main mission.

Thank you, that's pretty much what I wanted to know. I was afraid I was gonna miss on main story content by doing assignments.

The collector ship triggers after doing a certain number of missions, no matter if they were dossier or other kind of missions.
