I can't even play at 45 FPS :?

120 FPS is a thing of beauty if your rig can pull it off

Except the frame rates, if your PC is a bit older. Then it will hickup till sunset. Not a problem with consoles. Also, you don't need to use "whole day" to install something, not even on PS3 (which people complain about). Everything also works right away from the box.

lol.

Consoles are limited to 30 FPS for ME3. Which looks atrocious (I refuse to play at 30 FPS). And if your computer takes a "whole day" to install a game from a DVD, then you should think about upgrading your Pentium 2.

That's why it was in quatation marks. Diablo 3 for example did take quite long time to install. And yeah, consoles are limited to steady 30fps, which I like. Not "jumpy" 60fps like on PC. Not to mention the Xbox doesn't disconnect the connection all the time.

So not everything is better on PC. :wizard:

... wut?

A computer that "jumps" between 50 and 60 FPS will look much smoother than a console that runs constantly at 30 FPS. Diablo 3 took a long time to install because you have to contact Blizzard's servers for constant updates/verificiation/downloading game files. And if consoles don't disconnect all the time why do console players constantly complain about disconnections?

Dunno, I have only few disconnect issues with ME3. And those were when the ME3 servers went down, it was so rare that I had to make a post for it. And the "jumps" look more like screen freezes on PC games. Remember, not just talking about ME3 here, the tagline was: "Everything is better on PC".

I haven't played ME3 on PS3 either (I did play ME2 on it but it was a long time ago) however, up until I switched to PC a couple years ago I played all my games on my PS3 and frame rates/fram rate drops are terrible.

At this point in the console cycle the hardware is so outdated that every game runs much better on PC.

Mouse+keyboard also allow for more accuracy and needed buttons for RPG type games (in addition to MMO/RTS/whatever else)

Also since nearly every game is a multi-platform release nowadays it behooves one to play PC. Back in the days of NES, SNES, N64 (Sega if you were lame) games were mostly released to one platform(or just on console) and if you wanted to play with Mario you had to buy Nintendo. If you wanted to play games like System Shock 1+2, Thief, Deus Ex, Starcraft, Diablo 1+2, Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Battlefield 1942, you had to play them on PC.

I originally bought ME on xbox for whatever reason so I had to buy the new ones on xbox to continue my Shepard's journey, I did not anticipate the Multiplayer for ME3 being so good. My RL friends mostly played xbox which is why I continued with it until they stopped playing, then I bought it for PC finally.

Disagree.  Some of us don't have the funds to sink into an upgrade or a rig for gaming.

How about every game CAN run better on a PC?

Don't disagree with this.  I'm just not willing to upgrade my computer to do this.  I'm a college student with no extra money to spend.

I hear you, I'm a college student too. I set aside around $1000 to build a new PC, buy new peripherals, and a new monitor. Consoles are typically more popular in younger demographics for this reason.

good lord.  I could never justify doing that for a computer.  Im not that youn a demograpic, I'm 23

Everything is better on PC if you have the money for a good rig.

Most people have a decent TV.  A console is a relatively inexpensive addition, which allows you access into the gaming world, taking advantage of sunk costs.

I'm lucky, I'm at a point in my life where I can afford toys that amuse me.  So I can spend silly amounts on a gaming rig. Younger folks, perhaps in high school, college, just starting out or with a young family may not have the spare bucks to spend on a "good rig."  To save money and to get the specs he wants, Cyonan is building his own computer.  If I remember correctly, he's put about $2500 into the project.  That's a chunk of change many can't afford to spend on a computer.

You don't need to spend that much to get a computer that will play the upcoming video games, but ME3 is unique in that it puts a very light load on a computer.  ME4 will probably be on Frost 3, that will require a lot of folks to upgrade their machines, if they want a decent gaming experience.  By then, the new Xbox will be out, allowing both platforms to enjoy an upgraded gaming experience.  An Xbox upgrade will be cheaper than a PC upgrade.  So for many, it makes the most sense.

Don't be envious, don't let folks get your goat, just enjoy the game, on whatever platform you choose to play it on.  Most of all, have fun.

Well that does suck. Ofcourse I can only speak of someone who has played the ME3 on Xbox360. Works fine there. Only when it truely jumps down is when someone joins the game and even then I get surprised at first: "WHAT?!".

I'm going to stop quoting because it's getting crazy.
I consider younger demographics people in early to mid 20's and under. Typically most PC gamers I know are 20 or older though most of them in their 30s. I'm 20 so I'm young lol, everyone I know plays consoles only.

Just going off of my personal experience.

As much as I like talking about PC and consoles I''m tired now......

Well others have more money to spend than others. Some people find things like better PC to be worth the investment, others find that to be food or maybe the other neccesities.

Still, 5 grand for a computer? I am studying to be an Elementary teacher right now.  That kind of frivolous spending has never and will never be available to me.

Not really true.  All you will need to upgrade is the GPU.  You can always get a GPU which can run current games smoothly for around 150-200 dollars.  Much cheaper than a new Xbox

No, you said you feel sorry for him. Who are you to say what a good investment is for him? Go bury your head.

Well, I live in Hawaii, so shipping is a b*tch.  Only Amazon offers free shipping, and they usually don't have the best prices on hardware.

Plus I wanted to be a little conservative, since I wasn't sure of the current prices, haven't been totally keeping up recently

But I got mine back in 2009 for 150, and it still works perfectly for games that aren't super graphics intensive at 1920x1200.

My buddy is from Hawaii as well. I visited him once and I feel for you. The prices out there are terrible. However, it's a small price to pay to live in paradise. ;)
