Not at all as long as he was helping with the objectives, i have seen people taking the scoreboard too seriously for my liking and taking off during hack objectives (read : not distracting) only to die out, not to use medi-gel and another idiot taking off to revive the fallen 'rambo' only sacrificing himself on a fool's errand. Don't mind people getting low scores, but do mind people coming into the game only to prove a point (scores)/to be carried. But then such is PUG life.

So you think 80k is a low score for gold?

What do YOU think? Only you can really judge. You were there and you saw what the person did and how the game progressed. I don't quite understand why you'd ask this to others when they weren't present. Some aspects matter to others, some don't. But yeah in all seriousness, do you think he was pulling his weight?

If judging by score alone, I assume he was. 10-20 isn't entirely right as if it was a Volus, I've seen them score higher.

You cant tell anyhting from just these 4 numbers. What classes and levels are we talking about here? If the 1, 2, and 3 were priming biotics with warp or DC or some other heavyt ability with a long cooldown while 4 was detonating with fast casts, he did his job - the score doesn't reflect it though. The same could be said if they were Paladins specced for Snap Freeze or similar and 4 was a Geth Engeneer specced for Double Chain Overload i'd say that he porbably pulled his weight.

Yeah ignore a large part of my post lol.my phone is being slow and I didn't catch your later comments. You clearly felt you pulled your own so that's fine. Sorry if I've missed this already but what were the other classes/weapons?

You score seemed fine, looks like they expected you to carry them or something? I doubt you would have been kill whoring during objectives or slowing the team down.

Sure, but I have low standards for public players. Assist medal or kill medal is all you need to be a contribution to the team. This of course excludes players who throw out racial slurs every time they get shot or ones who try to sabotage objective waves/refuse to revive a teammate for some reason.

Why would score matter? If the pug helped out, revived, didn't die all the time and seemed like a team player - who cares about scores? I'd be more worried about the top scorer - did he/she even help with objectives?

I agree, and once again, most of the time you don't need score/medals list to realize who's an asset to the team and who's dragging it down,  if you're paying attention to your teammates, objectives and such , you realize it during the game.

This is where elitism falls apart. First off, we are talking about a gold match.... Its not really hard. But lets get back to basics real fast.

Did you have fun? Did you extract?

466k in a gold Collectors game is good to very good.

One can not measure skill by the score, there are a lot of factors that go into a players contribution on the field and yes I would run with this player again no question.

How many times did you drop OP? Not bled out, dropped. I looked and saw that you were running a carnage/inferno/passive/fitness with no fortification. 81k on a self burster grenadier on a grenade rich map and on an extended game is low. One of the main reasons that could happen is if you were spending too much time waiting for revives.

I was the 81k
I was playing krogan soldier
we had 2 inf and 1 human soldier
Game took 26 minutes
I died 3 times (krogan more than skill)
Did not notice any missles used, although there could have been.

The reason I asked was because I don't see 81k as a bad score, regardless of the other scores.
Red exes all around after game.

I was just looking to see if anyone thought that was a low score just because the others scored so high.

Sounds like you did okay, but perhaps weren't nuking enough spawns w/ infernos. 4th place doesn't necc mean 'bad', sometimes it can just mean '4th place'. Someone's gotta be it each match, after all..

They prob shouldn't have kicked you, but oh well move on.

I was just about to ask if you were the one with the 81k and got kicked afterwards. :D

Anyway, 81k isn't a bad score. It's not a particularly good one either but no reason to kick or be mad at. Especially when it's with an unfamiliar class.

Just trying to figure out if I am ready to pug gold regularly. A lot of differing opinions here, so I will re-evaluate and see. Thanks to everyone.

that's what i hate the most when PUGing.. the constant fear to be a dead weight or not be good enough..
anyway i don't usually kicj anybody out, even if they score 30k as long as they manage to not die every 5 seconds and help during objectives.. i think 80k is a nice score afterall

I got you beat, joined a random plat match, it was collectors and the host was a LEVEL 4 Vanguard, his score at the end of nine waves, (we each had to put in 33.3% cause he spent every wave dead and by the 9th we just couldn't do it anymore), a whopping 5500 points.

Sure you are!

Its not about score only.  Did you get along well with the others?  Did anyone die a lot?  Was there good synergy?

Sometimes 3 guys are ready to play, the 4th will be along soon.  We have time for a gold, so queue it up and lets rock!  Well, when he finally gets online and ready to go, we have to let you go to get them in.  No hard feelings.....

Don't think that means anything about your play style.

I almost never contribute to these types of threads, as I don't feel I have anything to say beyond the obvious, but I've played with you quite a bit TC and you're fine pugging gold.

I would in fact go so far as to say a Gold Collectors with those scores might be (key word, "might") indicative of poor understanding of what needs to be done by the "top" scorers, or just a general unwillingness to do it, which in my book lends itself to a less enjoyable match.

Random matches are random, you never know what mood the people you play with are going to be in. I've been called a "loser f-n f*gg*t" totally out of the blue for medigelling near another person (never mind that he was being stunlocked by a Prime at the time) and not waiting for a revive.

Lag, bad composition (like 3 infiltrators and 1 squishy adept), unexpected bug (no sound for example) or even bad mood from last game all lead to relatively or extremely low scores. Can't really blame people for scoring last.

Host getting extremely low score on anything other than a Volus though... is less acceptable.

Depends on variables too. Did he die a lot? Did he make me die? Did he go for objectives? Did he compromise objectives? Did he spam flamer in my face or shaked my screen or orther garbage. Did he medigel? Did he use rockets when it was needed?

you would have a lot more context if you could actually play a whole game with me without Dc'ing Image IPB
