The writing for ME3's general direction was appalling. I honestly believe a 5 year old could have done better.
Somewhere between ME1 and 2 there was a disconnect. The good writers left, and we got left with the terribads. They had no clue what to do with the story or where to take it. Me2 was a success because of the quality acting, animation, and polishing.
ME3 lacks the same fire. It felt rushed, the story was poorly done - all in all it is the Mass Effect Galaxy seen through the eyes of a neurotic. The writers dropped the ball. I cannot soon or easily forget this horrendous ending to a series. The developers lied as well - with this "Its not a,b, or c endings, but your choices really matter...." Total lies!
If Casey Hudson is opening his mouth, its to lie. All of that hype - all of that glory and approbation.... for what? Starkid? Give me a freaking break.

I am pretty turned off to Mass Effect (SP) right now.

I couldn't say it better. It's the main reason why I'm looking doubtfully on next ME game.

Anything that Patrick Weekes wrote was incredible. I wish they put that guy in charge.

YES, even if it doesn't have MP. As long as the SP is good i'll get it.
Haha if that was to happen Me4 can kiss my behind. With the success of MP it will happen no doubt which will be even bigger & better, well larger bugs/glitches atleast!
As for campaign, can't get better than ME2 although it can't be worse then ME3, but it's only about MP for me, I'm happy to have the momories of the ME2 campaign.

And Biower lrn2balanceornotatall pls.
...
But neither of those will ever happen so once the free MP DLC dries up I'm probably going to retire the SWANK permanently.

Too early to decide. After trailers and demo will know for sure. I don't like the possible use of Frostbite engine, though.
Lolwut.... I don't understand all the silly complaints about what engine it's running on, having the same engine as another game doesn't automatically make them the same. This game uses the unreal engine, you know, the one used in the ancient Unreal Tournament games. Are they even close to the same? Switching to a MODERN engine can only be a good thing.

If ME4 turns out to be just another shooter with "space magic" being marginalized like it is in ME3 multiplayer then it'll not be very enjoyable for me.

I've been playing games since 89, played so many games i can't even remember but there's always "that one" that marks your life. I remember when I was a kid, playing games like "streets of rage" and my mom screaming "step away from the tv, its school time!", well Mass Effect is one of the few games that makes me feel that way, it's so "organic" that makes me depressed when it ends, not because of the end itself (for sure, I'd rather kick the reapers and have blue kids with Liara somewhere else in the galaxy LOL but thats not the point) but because it's so good that I want to play more... it's because of games like Mass Effect that i buy new consoles, get new tattoos... damn, i even take a ps3 with me when my band is on tour lol, so yeah I'm already looking forward to Mass Effect 25

I'm afraid of Battlefield Effect 4.
Under what rock are you living? Have you heard about Unreal Engine 4? If that's not MODERN then I don't know what is. EA simply don't want to give money (EA in serious financial problems?) to Epic Games for using their engine so they will use their in-the-house built generic shooter engine.
