And what's wrong with battlefield? Hating things because they're mainstream isn't any better than hating things because they're obscure. Maybe they are going to use Frostbite so you can blow up buildings with singularity (DO WANT). Also, I believe you are the one living under a rock, because this game runs Unreal 3, not 4.Rendy H wrote...

Too early to decide. After trailers and demo will know for sure. I don't like the possible use of Frostbite engine, though.
Lolwut.... I don't understand all the silly complaints about what engine it's running on, having the same engine as another game doesn't automatically make them the same. This game uses the unreal engine, you know, the one used in the ancient Unreal Tournament games. Are they even close to the same? Switching to a MODERN engine can only be a good thing.
I'm afraid of Battlefield Effect 4.
Under what rock are you living? Have you heard about Unreal Engine 4? If that's not MODERN then I don't know what is. EA simply don't want to give money (or EA have in serious financial problems?) to Epic Games for using their engine so they will use their in-the-house built generic shooter engine.

Only if it will be 100% standalone Multiplayer. Improved. With dedicated servers.

And maybe some kind of short SP campaign with multiple species to play with in the SP

Duh, I know that, but future games will use the newest version. What's good for BF may not be good for ME.

And why should they? What, specifically, makes one engine better than the other? And why does using the same engine as another great game somehow make them the same?Rendy H wrote...

They probably already decided on what to do before asking that, but whatever.
If they're going with pre-Shepard era, I'll be pissed.
I want to know what happened after Shepard's.
Not about the past that's already been covered a bit through Dark Horse comics.

By the way, sooo many games are coming out this year.
Bioshock Infinite, GTA V, Crysis 3, Tomb Raider, The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, Dead Space 3, CD Projekt's soon-to-be-revealed game, etc.
Holy crap!!

Even with multiplayer, it is not uncommon for a sequel to be worse than the previous one.
